INTRODUCTION

Sino-Indian relations, also called India-China relations refer tothe people's Republic of China and India.

India-China relations has a long history, which was seen bothups & downs during these last 6 decades.

The relations between late 50's & early 80's were sour due tocircumstances leading to the war of 1962, which led to a

serious setback in bilateral relations.

India & China restored ambassadorial relations in 1976.

Sino-Indian Economic Relations

Trade relations via the Silk Road acted as economic contact

between the two regions.

Chinese location, culture and human resources can provideIndia a springboard to enter the Japanese and Korean market

for services .

Both countries have in recent years successfully attempted toeconomic ties, and consequently, the two countries' relations

have become closer. Today, China is India's largest trading

partner.

Today, India is a main seller of Iron ore to China, and fills the

desperate need of natural resources for the nation.

Indian exports of goods account just about 1% of Chinas totalimports, while Chinese exports of goods account for just

about 5% of Indias total imports.

The Indo China trade is likely to reach US$60 billion by theend of 2009.

India and China share complimentarily in many areas of services like IT Enabled Services, IT, Biotech.

India can be the lowest cost producer to China in several areaslike education, professional services and financial services.

Recently Chinese premier Wen Jiabao visited India, where he

said that India and China must take their trade to $70 billion

level by 2010.

On April 11-2005, Premier Wen Jiabao held important

talks with his Indian Prime Minister Man Mohan Singh in

New Delhi.

There has been a great deal of expectation in India

regarding the State visit of the President to Indiarecalling that 2006 is the India-China friendship year.

CONCLUSION

In the present scenario economic relations & border 

dispute are the two main which guide the Sino-Indian

relation the former one being the most important.

. With regard to the economic relations even the chinese

feel that with both economies growing, India's relative

advantage in information technology software & china's

relative advantage in manufacturing hardware must becombined to produce a new synergy.
