BACnet enables large-scale energy savings. With BACnet we network our systems and monitor our HVAC equipment.
John Means, Director Facilities Management, Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport
The Essential Role of BACnet
We will present both our current and future projects. BACnet will continue to play an essential role.
Dr. Ulrich Kipper, Senior Vice President Infrastructure Management at Fraport AG
Welcome to Investment Security and Reliable Building Operation
Frankfurt Airport is building its new Terminal 3 with a building management system based on BACnet® communication (ISO 16484-5). BACnet is the brand for networked systems and for the exclusion of inefficient isolated solutions. It is vendor-inde-pendent and ensures a seamless integration of the entire building services.
For Facility Managers and OperatorsIn many extension projects BACnet plays a key role in the techni-cal management. BACnet is the cornerstone to meeting specific requirements such as efficient operability, easy operation, and consistent alarm management. Therefore, at an increasing number of airports, the global communication standard has become an enabler for investment security and reliable building operation.
BACnet application know-how is available from 10 European airports. At the Airport Conference we would like to share what we have learnt with the entire industry. Facility managers, operators and the technical management will greatly profit from discussing what they have experienced.
Trend-setting for all Types of BuildingsThe Airport Conference is trend-setting for other types of buildings. The high requirements for safety and security, sustainability and reliability are best practices for the entire construction industry – planners, constructors and manufacturers.
The airports’ progress in digitization, resilience, CO2 reduction and data security make the Airport Conference a unique place for the exchange of experience, new insights and learning from the best.

Welcome to Gateway GardensGateway Gardens is the youngest Airport City at Frankfurt Airport. It is a “Global Business Village” in the European heartland, and with a projected gross exter-nal area of 700,000 square meters, one of the largest quarter developments of any airport city in Europe. Gateway Gardens connects economic flow across the world by applying a simple concept called “proximity.”
Located at one of the world’s biggest airports, in the heart of Frankfurt Airport City, a major high-speed railway station, and the most heavily frequented motorway junction in Europe. This sort of mobility and proximity translates into direct access to international and global business contacts and markets.
