Valve repair

Regular valve repair plays an important

role in your compressor’s efficiency.

Every HOERBIGER service center

adheres to the HOERBIGER standard

for valve repair and component

replacement. Our objective for each

valve repair is to return it to new

condition.

Each valve is carefully tagged and

catalogued when it comes in. It under-

goes a rigorous process that includes a

Magnaflux inspection of every seat and

guard, precise tolerance measurements,

and machining to verify clearance

and lift. After the repair, each valve

is carefully wrapped in protective

packaging, labeled, and tagged with

all repair information.

Valve retrofits

If the compressor you are operating

has undergone a change in application

– such as a different gas, or different

operating pressures – the original

valves may not be providing the

optimum efficiency or performance.

HOERBIGER Service performs countless

valve retrofits each year to increase

compressor reliability and capacity or

reduce power consumption.

Packing case repairs and upgrades

We can repair your existing packing to

as-new condition, or retrofit packing

to meet your service requirements.

Packing cases are examined for cracks

using magnetic particle testing, then

measured to ensure that they have not

reached their service limit.

Shop servicesAs the world-leading independent valve manufacturer, no company is better qualified to handle valve repairs. But

we do not stop at cleaning and repair. We offer full evaluation of your application to make sure the right valve is

being used. We can retrofit any valve to fit your performance and reliability requirements.

Piston and rod repair

HOERBIGER sources or manufactures

coated or new induction-hardened rods

with rolled threads. We also recondition

your existing rods at any of our repair

and service facilities.

Similarly, piston rings and rider bands

are manufactured in many locations as

well as at our regional manufacturing

facility. Our proprietary HY material

grades are manufactured in Houston

under HOERBIGER’s strict quality

control systems.

Cylinder repair

We restore your worn compressor

cylinders to their original size and

condition. Certain machine shops are

designated to line and bore cylinders

for quick rebuild service.

Cylinder assembly is trusted only to

expertly-trained technicians using our

own high-quality standards, equipment

and testing procedures.

Crossheads and pins

Complete compressor overhauls

include pin and bushing inspections,

all crosshead clearance adjustments,

shimming, alignment and lubrication.

Connecting rods, bushings

Connecting rods can be restored to

original OEM dimensional and perfor-

mance specifications at a fraction of

the cost of purchasing new ones. New

bearings are sourced from our new

internal, streamlined parts procurement

group.

work on site are seasoned veterans of
