The Year of St. Joseph Prayer
St. Joseph, you are the faithful protector and interces-sor of all who love and venerate you. I have special
confidence in you. You are powerful with God and will never abandon your faithful servants. I humbly invoke you and commend myself with all who are dear to me
to your intercession. By the love you have for Jesus and Mary, do not abandon me during life and assist
me at the hour of my death. Glorious St. Joseph, be my guide, my father, and my model through life that I may merit to die as you did in the arms of Jesus and Mary. Guardian of the Word Incarnate, I am confident that
your prayers on my behalf will be graciously heard be-fore the throne of God. Through Christ, our Lord,
Amen

World Day of Prayer for Vocations—April 25, 2021
MESSAGE OF HIS HOLINESS POPE FRANCIS FOR THE WORLD DAY OF VOCATIONS
“The Lord’s call is not an intrusion of God in our freedom; it is not a “cage” or a burden to be borne. On the contrary, it is the loving initiative whereby God encounters us and invites us to be part of a great undertaking. He opens before our eyes the hori-zon of a greater sea and an abundant catch.”
On this World Day of Prayer, Pope Francis reflects on how the Lord is calling on us to be “bearers of promise” and have “courage to take a risk” with Him and for Him. By reading the Gospel account of the calling of the first disciples by the sea of Galilee (Mk 1:16-20) we can consider our calling. On this World Day of Prayer for Vocations, let us join in prayer and ask the Lord to help us discover His plan of love for our lives, and to grant us the courage to walk in the path that, from the beginning, He has chosen for each of us.
Sincerest Condolences
On behalf of St. Joseph’s Parish, we offer our sincere
condolences and deepest sympathies to Susan
Chuyko on the death of her mother, Elizabeth Chuyko
at the age of 93. Elizabeth was the mother-in-law of
Jeanette Cororan- Castro’s brother, Neil Cororan.
Please pray for the repose of Elizabeth’s soul and ex-
tended prayers for Susan. The funeral mass will be on
Wednesday, April 28 at 11:00 am.
PRAYER FOR VOCATIONS
Lord Jesus, Son of the Eternal Father and Mary Immaculate, grant
to our young people the generosity necessary to follow Your call
and the courage required to overcome all obstacles to their voca-
tion. Give the parents that faith, love and spirit of sacrifice which
will inspire them to offer their children to God’s service and to re-
joice whenever one of their children is called to the priesthood and
religious life. Let your example a nd that of you Blessed Mother
and Saint Joseph encourage both young people and parents and let
Your grace sustain them. Amen
God, the Father of Heaven, Have Mercy on Us
Consecration to St. Joseph will increase the presence of
the Father in your life. We learn this truth from the life of
Jesus himself. When the Heavenly Father sent his Son into the
world to save us and make us his children, he selected one saint to
represent him on earth: St. Joseph. Jesus, in living under the roof
of St. Joseph and being his Son, gave us a personal example of
total entrustment to St. Joseph. Jesus loved, obeyed, and imitated
his earthly father. Saint Joseph is the only man that Jesus ever
called father; Jesus delighted in being known as the “son of Jo-
seph” (see Jn 6:42). We, too, should consider it an honor to be his
children. If, according to the plans of the Father, Jesus needed St.
Joseph, how much more do we need him, too! (Reprinted from

Fourth Sunday of Easter Family Connection
The Good Shepherd makes sacrifices for the sheep not because it is required, but because it is
a choice. That sounds a lot like parenting and the dynamics of a healthy family life. Parents
choose to make sacrifices for their children out of love, not obligation. Christian parents
model and invite their children to choose to make sacrifices for other family members and for
other people, acting out of love rather than obligation.
When you gather as a family, invite each family member to consider the attitude that perme-ates their participation in family life. Read a common examen, such as any of the follow-ing: Do we do family chores cheerfully and without having to be asked multiple times? Do we gladly share with others? Do we willingly contribute to the family good when asked? Read aloud today’s Gospel, John 10:11-18. Discuss together how the example of the Good Shep-herd might inspire your family life. Invite each family member to make a renewed commit-ment to one action/attitude to focus on in the upcoming week that show that we will choose to follow the example of the Good Shepherd. Pray together that we will be able to honor our commitment. Pray together Saint Ignatius of Loyola’s Prayer for Generosity.. (Reprinted from Loyola
