Welcome

Dear WCC Exhibitor:

It is with great pleasure that our committee welcomes you to Reno,

Nevada for the 2017 West Coast Classic. Whether this is your 8th WCC or your very first, you are in for a special rabbit and cavy

show. This year, the West Coast Classic welcomes national shows from six breeds including Holland Lop, American Fuzzy Lop, Florida White, Lilac, Beveren, and Blanc de Hotot. For four of these breeds, it will be their first time at WCC for a national show. As for the American Fuzzy Lop and Beveren breeders, well, they just can’t get enough of WCC and are back in Reno for their 2nd and 3rd WCC nationals! If your breed isn’t holding a national at WCC this year, fear not because there is a show for you! Saturday will have a single all-breed open and youth rabbit and cavy show while Sunday will entertain two all-breed open and youth rabbit and cavy shows. In addition, we have a record number of breed specialty shows sponsored by

clubs along the entire West Coast. Get ready for 60 rabbit breed specialty shows, some of which have

double and triple specialty options! 2017 also marks the very first cavy specialty show! Details about all of these specialty shows are found later in this catalog.

Supporting our youth exhibitors is a huge part of who we are at WCC. Jennifer and Mike Ambrosino and their hard working committee are gearing up for some of the best youth contests in the country including breed identification and judging contests, showmanship, and of course royalty. Just who will be crowned WCC royalty this year? Even if you haven’t competed in youth events in the past, all youth exhibitors are encouraged to jump in and get their feet wet. It’s the best way to prepare for future competitions such as the 2017 ARBA Convention. This year we begin a relationship with a new host hotel. The Peppermill Reno Resort and Casino is rated as TripAdvisor’s number 1 attraction in all of Reno with first class accommodations, an array of restaurants, fun for kids, after-show fun nightlife for adults, and so much more. We have locked in a WCC group hotel rate of just $99 per night. Details on how to secure your reservation savings are in this catalog. Don’t forget to book a room – the Peppermill is where everyone will be after the show to relax, socialize with old and new friends, hit the dance floors, or a little of all! Once again, welcome to Reno, welcome to WCC 2017. It isn’t just a rabbit and cavy show, it’s an event! See you in Reno! ~the West Coast Classic Committee

But, right now I have Netherlands, Florida Whites, and Californians.” FAVORITE MOMENTS: Christina says, “I had given a youth another Best of Breed and she says, ‘My dad is going to want another picture!’ To which I jokingly replied, ‘No more pictures because I am melting.’ She promptly snapped back at me with, ‘Get your big girl underwear on and take a picture!’ That was a moment not to forget!” ARBA INVOLVEMENT: “I hold several offices with different clubs in Montana. I like promoting our youth and giving to the ARBA youth scholarship fund.” INTERESTING “NON-RABBIT” FACT: “I grew up in the dog show world and this is what led us to breeding cavies. My sister wanted one for a Christmas present and my mother was very adamant about buying from a breeder after she found out that you could show the cavies.
