ALL CONTROL WIRING SHALL COMPLY WITH THE NATIONAL

ELECTRICAL CODE AND DIVISION 26 OF THE SPECIFICATIONS.

MECHANICAL CONTRACTOR SHALL COORDINATE THE INSTALLATION

OF ALL CONCRETE EQUIPMENT PADS WITH THE STRUCTURAL

DRAWINGS AND THE ACTUAL SELECTED EQUIPMENT. PAD

THICKNESS AS IDENTIFIED ON THE STRUCTURAL DRAWINGS

IS CONSIDERED A MINIMUM.

PROVIDE SEISMIC BRACING OF MECHANICAL EQUIPMENT INCLUDING

OVERHEAD UTILITIES AND FIXTURES WEIGHING OVER 30 POUNDS

IN ACCORDANCE WITH SPECIFICATION SECTIONS 15070 AND 13080.

120V POWER FROM ELECTRICAL PANELS TO DDC CONTROLLERS,

ALARM PANELS AND OTHER DDC EQUIPMENT SHALL BE BY DIV.23

CONTRACTOR. COORDINATE FINAL REQUIREMENTS WITH

ELECTRICAL DRAWINGS.

ALL SUPPLY/EXHAUST AIR REGISTERS SHALL BE

GENERAL STRUCTURAL NOTES

THESE NOTES SHALL APPLY UNLESS SHOWN/INDICATED OTHERWISE ELSEWHERE IN

THE STRUCTURAL DRAWINGS.

GENERAL

1. THE FOLLOWING GENERAL NOTES APPLY TO ALL STRUCTURAL DRAWINGS UNLESS

OTHERWISE SPECIFICALLY SHOWN OR NOTED.

2. ALL PHASES OF WORK TO CONFORM TO THE MINIMUM STANDARDS OF THE 2012 INTERNATIONAL

BUILDING CODE AND THE MOST CURRENT UNIFIED FACILITIES CRITERIA.

2. CONTRACTOR SHALL VERIFY ALL EXISTING CONDITIONS AND DIMENSIONS

BEFORE STARTING WORK. SHOULD CONDITIONS EXIST WHICH ARE

CONTRARY TO THOSE SHOWN ON PLANS, THE ENGINEER SHALL BE

NOTIFIED IN WRITING BEFORE PROCEEDING WITH WORK.

3. UNLESS DETAILED, SPECIFIED, OR INDICATED OTHERWISE, CONSTRUCTION

SHALL BE AS INDICATED IN THE APPLICABLE STANDARD STRUCTURAL

DETAILS AND THESE GENERAL NOTES. STANDARD DETAILS ARE MEANT TO

APPLY EVEN THOUGH NOT REFERENCED AT SPECIFIC LOCATIONS ON

DRAWINGS WHERE THEY OCCUR.

4. THE CONTRACT DRAWINGS AND SPECIFICATIONS REPRESENT THE FINISHED

STRUCTURE. THEY DO NOT INDICATE THE METHOD OF CONSTRUCTION. THE

CONTRACTOR SHALL PROVIDE ALL MEASURES NECESSARY TO PROTECT THE

STRUCTURE, WORKERS AND PEDESTRIANS DURING CONSTRUCTION. SUCH

MEASURES SHALL INCLUDE, BUT NOT BE LIMITED TO BRACING, SHORING

FOR LOADS DUE TO CONSTRUCTION EQUIPMENT, TEMPORARY STRUCTURES,

AND PARTIALLY COMPLETED WORK, ETC. OBSERVATION VISITS TO THE

SITE BY THE ENGINEER SHALL NOT BE CONSIDERED AS INSPECTION OF

SUCH ITEMS.

5. DIMENSIONS SHALL TAKE PRECEDENCE OVER SCALES SHOWN ON DRAWINGS.

6. ALL WORK SHALL CONFORM TO THE PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS IN ALL

RESPECTS AND SHALL BE SUBJECT TO APPROVAL BY THE ENGINEER.

7. CONTRACTOR SHALL VERIFY LOCATION OF ALL SITE UTILITIES PRIOR TO

STARTING WORK, BOTH ABOVE GROUND AND BELOW GROUND, WHICH MAY BE

IMPACTED BY THE WORK SHOWN ON THESE DRAWINGS. ANY CONFLICTS SHALL

BE BROUGHT TO THE ATTENTION OF THE ENGINEER.

8. WHEN CUTTING A NEW OPENING IN EXISTING CONCRETE OR MASONRY, CONTRACTOR

SHALL NOT OVER CUT AT THE CORNERS; CORE DRILL, CHIP AND GRIND AS REQUIRED

AT CORNERS. A LAYOUT OF ALL PROPOSED OPENINGS SHALL BE REVIEWED BY THE

ENGINEER PRIOR TO SAWCUTTING.

STEEL NOTES

1. ALL STRUCTURAL AND MISCELLANEOUS STEEL SHALL BE ASTM A36 UNLESS

NOTED OTHERWISE. STRUCTURAL STEEL SHALL BE FABRICATED AND ERECTED

IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE AISC SPECIFICATION FOR THE DESIGN, FABRICATION

AND ERECTION OF STRUCTURAL STEEL FOR BUILDINGS. STRUCTURAL STEEL

FABRICATION AND ERECTION SHALL BE SPECIALLY INSPECTED UNLESS FABRICATION

IS PERFORMED ON THE PREMISES OF AN A.I.S.C CERTIFIED FABRICATOR SHOP. AT THE

COMPLETION OF FABRICATION, THE APPROVED FABRICATOR SHALL SUBMIT

A CERTIFICATE OF COMPLIANCE TO THE CITY BUILDING OFFICIAL (OR OWNER

IF THE PROJECT IS NOT UNDER THE JURISDICTION OF A BUILDING DEPARTMENT)

6. HOLES FOR BOLTS IN STEEL SHALL BE OF SAME DIAMETER AS BOLT +1/16"

MAXIMUM.

7. ALL WELDING SHALL BE SHIELDED ARC TYPE AND SHALL BE PERFORMED BY

A CERTIFIED WELDER IN A FABRICATION SHOP REGISTERED AND APPROVED

IN ACCORDANCE WITH NOTE 1 ABOVE. NO FIELD WELDING ALLOWED.

8. NO STRUCTURAL STEEL MEMBER SHALL BE CUT FOR PIPES, DUCTS, ETC.

UNLESS SPECIFICALLY DETAILED AND APPROVED BY STRUCTURAL ENGINEER.

9. ALL STEEL SHALL BE HOT-DIP GALVANIZED IN ACCORDANCE WITH ASTM A123, UNO.

10. UNLESS OTHERWISE SHOWN OR NOTED, EDGE DISTANCES FOR CONNECTIONS SHALL

BE PER TABLE 1.16.5.1 OF THE A.I.S.C. SPECIFICATIONS.

11. CARBON STEEL THREADED RODS SHALL CONFORM TO ASTM A193, GRADE B7,

ADHESIVE ANCHOR NOTES

1. ADHESIVE ANCHOR SYSTEM FOR ANCHORS/RODS AND DOWELS IN CONCRETE SHALL

BE "HIT-RE500-SD", MANUFACTURED BY HILTI, INC. OR "SET-XP", MANUFACTURED BY SIMPSON

STRONG-TIE, OR PER NOTE 4 BELOW.

2. ANCHORS SHALL BE INSTALLED IN ACCORDANCE WITH I.C.C. EVALUATION REPORT
