A nutrition education programme was conducted at Chincholem anganwadi, for the mothers of
children during SNP check up. The nutrition officer delivered a talk on importance of nutrition
and balance diet for children, adolescents, pregnant and lactating mothers. Other topics
highlighted were importance of water, breakfast and the deficiencies and sources of important
nutrients like iron and calcium, healthy eating habits in children, ill effects of junk food and
associated lifestyle diseases, lactogenic foods, complementary foods, preparation of recipes
keeping in mind the local availability and SNP provided to the beneficiaries and homemade
cerelac recipe. RMNCH+A counselor spoke on hygiene and hand washing. School health MO,
dentist from Panjim UHC were present. The session was attended by 17 mothers. It was an
interactive session where the audience also asked many questions to which their queries.

An IEC activity was conducted on nutrition at Sanquelim PHC, during immunization day for the
lactating mothers and mothers of preschool children. The assistant nutrition officer delivered a
talk on importance of nutrition and balanced diet for children and lactating mothers. Other topics
highlighted were iron and calcium deficiency and foods sources and importance of water and
breakfast, anemia, postnatal care, also preparation for breastfeeding, importance of breastfeeding
and its benefits for child and mother, techniques and positions of breastfeeding, initiation of
breastfeeding and exclusive breastfeeding, expression of breast milk were discussed, Preparation
of homemade complimentary feeds for infants and lactogenic foods which help to increase the
supply of breast milk were discussed. Homemade cerelac recipe was explained to the
beneficiaries. The sessions were attended by total of 18 postnatal mothers.. It was an interactive
session where the audience also asked many questions to which their queries were answered.

An IEC programme was conducted at Bastora sub centre during immunization for the lactating
mothers and mothers of children. The nutrition officer delivered a talk on importance of nutrition
for children. Topics highlighted were healthy eating habits in children, iron and calcium rich
foods, importance of healthy breakfast and water, lactogenic foods which help to increase the
supply of breast milk, expression of breast milk, preparation of homemade complimentary foods
for infants keeping in mind locally available foods and SNP provided to the beneficiaries, healthy
eating practices and ill effects of junk food on children. Homemade cerelac recipe was explained
to the beneficiaries. LHV from Aldona PHC, ANM, MPHW (M) and helper from sub centre were
present. The session was attended by 17 mothers and 3 fathers. It was an interactive session where
the audience also asked many questions to which their queries were answered.

highlighted were importance of water, anemia, breakfast and the deficiencies and sources of
important nutrients like iron and calcium, healthy eating habits in children, ill effects of junk food
and associated lifestyle diseases. Extension educator and sanitary inspector spoke on swatchta
pakhawada, NVBDCP awareness. ANM and MPHW (M) were also present. Session was attended
by 19 mothers. It was an interactive session where the audience also asked many questions to
which their queries.

held on types and causes of diabetes, diabetes management, care during hypoglycemia, healthy
eating habits, meal patterns, foods to be avoided and included in the diet by diabetics, water,
importance of exercise to control diabetes, salt restricted diet in hypertensive patients, cancer
awareness and breast cancer detection and iron deficiency symptoms and foods rich in iron and
food to include and avoid to increase iron absorption.. The NCD camp team from Aldona PHC
were present for the camp.

and the deficiencies and sources of important nutrients like iron and calcium, healthy eating habits
in children, ill effects of junk food and associated lifestyle diseases, preparation of recipes
keeping in mind the local availability and SNP provided to the beneficiaries and homemade
cerelac recipe. Session was attended by 20 mothers. MPHW(F) did testing and spoke on iodine
storage, iodine deficiency. It was an interactive session where the audience also asked many
questions to which their queries.

nutrition officer gave a group session as well as individual counseling on types and causes of
diabetes, diabetes management, care during hypoglycemia, healthy eating habits, meal patterns,
foods to be avoided and included in the diet by diabetics, importance of exercise to control
diabetes, salt restricted diet in hypertensive patients, cancer awareness and breast cancer detection
and iron deficiency anemia, symptoms and foods rich in iron and food to include and avoid to
increase iron absorption. 13 patients were counseled.The NCD camp team from Sanquelim PHC
and the velguem sub centre staf were present for the camp.

to the beneficiaries. PHN from Aldona PHC spoke on PCPNDT Act. ANM’s, MPHW (M) and
helper from sub centre were present. The session was attended by 21 mothers and 5 fathers. It was

answered.

A Nutrition education programme was conducted during antenatal OPD, Candolim PHC, for the
pregnant mothers. The nutrition officer delivered lecture on importance of nutrition during
pregnancy and lactation period. Topics highlighted were balanced diet, healthy eating habits,
importance of healthy breakfast, water, postnatal care, micronutrients important during pregnancy
and lactation (iron and calcium) deficiencies and food sources. Also importance of breastfeeding
and its benefits for child and mother, techniques and positions of breastfeeding, initiation of
breastfeeding and exclusive breastfeeding, expression of breast milk, hygiene during
breastfeeding were discussed. Preparation of homemade complimentary foods for infants and
lactogenic foods which help to increase the supply of breast milk were discussed. Homemade
cerelac recipe was explained to the beneficiaries. The session was attended by 31 mothers. The
RMNCH+A counselor, PHN and Extension Educator were present. It was an interactive session
where the audience also asked many questions to which their queries were answered.

Conducted an IEC Activity during NCD screening camp at Karaswada anganwadi. A session was
held on types and causes of diabetes, diabetes management, care during hypoglycemia, healthy
eating habits, meal patterns, foods to be avoided and included in the diet by diabetics, water,
importance of exercise to control diabetes, salt restricted diet in hypertensive patients, cancer
awareness and breast cancer detection and iron deficiency symptoms and foods rich in iron and
food to include and avoid to increase iron absorption. The Extension Educator From UHC spoke
on importance of cancer screening. The NCD camp team from Mapusa UHC were present for the
camp.

care, balanced diet, iron and calcium rich foods, importance of healthy breakfast and water,
lactogenic foods which help to increase the supply of breast milk, expression of breast milk,
hygiene during breastfeeding and preparation of homemade complimentary foods for infants
keeping in mind locally available foods and SNP provided to the beneficiaries, healthy eating
practices. Homemade cerelac recipe was explained to the beneficiaries. The session was attended
by 24 postpartum mothers. It was an interactive session where the audience also asked many

discussed. Consumption of local fruits and vegetables was encouraged. Sensitisation on the Program
WIFS was done encouraging the students to benefit from the same. Nutritional guidelines to be
followed during the consumption of the Iron & Folic acid supplements through balanced breakfast and
avoiding caffeinated beverages and junk food was discussed. The deworming schedule was also
explained. The session was attended by 17 participants. It was an interactive session where the
