WORDS FROM THE PASTOR…. You will not want to miss the upcoming Prophecy Conference. Dr. Jimmy DeYoung will be our special
guest. Dr. DeYoung can be seen on the Day of Discovery television program, which is produced in
the Middle East. He is also heard daily and weekly on radio and internet, with the latest reports from
the Middle East on several networks consisting of over 1500 stations. He is also a frequent guest on
the John Ankerberg Television program.
Dr. DeYoung is a noted conference speaker in the United States, Europe, and South America, and he
devotes several months out of each year to this conference schedule. He has authored the best sell-
ing book, “Sound The Trumpets”, produced a number of audio and video materials, including his best
seller, “Ready To Rebuild”, a documentary on the building of the Third Temple. Jimmy continues to
monitor the most current events as they unfold in the Middle East and compares these current events
to the prophetic truth of God’s Word.
Jesus said in Matthew 24:44, “therefore you also be ready: for the Son of Man is coming at an hour
you do not expect.” In the next chapter Jesus reemphasized this again by saying, “watch therefore,
for you know neither the day nor the hour in which the Son of Man is coming.” Yes, one of the great-
est themes of the Bible is that Jesus is coming again. What a day that will be! I am grateful that we
are going to have a two-day prophecy conference on this very topic. Please pray for this time of Bible
study and make sure to attend every session.
Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it.
(Proverbs 22:6 NIV)
I am very thankful for my parents who believed in this Proverb. They began teaching me as a preschooler
about God’s love, God’s Word and living for God. Many SS teachers, pastors, friends, and other church
leaders did as well. I memorized Scripture, participated in Bible studies, learned Bible truths, and in my
teenage years began sharing these truths with others. The foundation was set and I am grateful!
As parents, grandparents, and adults we have the responsibility to guide children in the way they should go.
As a church body we must help guide children and youth to become disciples of Christ. However, we are also
to help equip and encourage parents, grandparents, and adults be the spiritual leaders that are so desperately
needed in homes today.
We are and will continue to provide small group studies to help equip parents to raise their children to be
disciples of Christ. My prayer is that all parents become involved in these small group studies. You will
receive truths to help you be the parent God has called you to be as well as be able to share your parenting
experiences.
