REPRESENTATION OF CHARACTERS

Tom Anderson

Donnie Darko

The light shining off of the character could represent heroism.

The Halloween suit could suggest rough exterior but innocence underneath.

Donnie’s typical teenage clothes

represent adolescent innocence. Donnie’s clothes could

also suggest rough exterior and innocence – Black on white.

The way that ‘Frank’ is sat up taller than the other two could represent higher knowledge and power.

The large background could represent insignificance.

The order they are sat in could show that people are getting in the way of Donnie and his destiny

Scarface

The low angle shot connotes power and also makes Tony seem dangerous.

The gold on the banister represents wealth and fortune.

His facial expression makes him seem crazy.

The gun obviously represents danger but the size of the gun connotes how dangerous and powerful he is.

The angle of the gun – downward, shows him as a strong, important character. Stronger than his enemies.

The bloody shirt represents things like danger, criminal action and even death

Juice

The gun denotes danger and crime.

The fact that the camera is not centred suggest that murder is not important to him.

The curled up position the victim is in represents weakness, vulnerability and loss of power.

The clothes of the murderer show him as a thug and a criminal.

The position of the killer over the victim represents power and authority
