TEEN REPRESENTION STARTER To analyse shots and sound in opening scenes. To identify aspects of media representation of teens. We will play one side of the class vs the other. One player from your team must select a number and a letter from the board. The aim of the game is to try and match as many of the media terms with their definition. The team to get the most points -wins!

• As audiences watch more and more film and television, they gradually develop certain views about the world, some of which are ‘false’.

• If we are exposed to too much violence, or too much blatant sexuality, we will become less sensitive to real violence and sexuality.

2. Why is it ironic that more bombs were dropped on Kosovo at the time of the shooting than any other time?

• You are going to watch the opening sequence of Harry Brown, in which teenagers are represented.

• Watch the clip and complete your shot & sound analysis sheets, by circling type of shot and sounds used and writing a brief description of them.
