Who is represented in the music video?

• Females are the main feature in the video.• Largely the focus is on two girls, with only a small feature on one other

male.

• One of the actresses (pictured) represents the female voice singing the lyrics that make up the main of the song.

• The lyrics suggest she is representing a girl who maybe ‘lost’ in her emotions and feelings of love. This can be generalisable to the young female audience, to which it may be aimed at.

How are they represented? And what does this say?

• The girls are both represented to be in a ‘lost’ or confused state.

• This is emphasised by the editing which includes vivid colours, geometric shapes and transitions which adds to the fast- paced and random, unordered video.

• The editing of the video may represent how the girls are feeling- in a place with no order and no restraints

Who do you think the representation is made by?

• The producer of the song (Redlight is a DJ as well as a record producer), and so probably had a lot of control over what was included and represented in his work.

Does the production conform to or subvert any dominant ideologies?

• Overall, the production conveys a sense of not knowing what is happening, being confused or absorbed in something else.

• There are no dominant ideologies

Have any stereotypical representations been generated?

• Yes, the representation of girls (typically teenagers) being ‘overwhelmed’ by their emotions in love.

• Lost in their feelings- not knowing what to make of it etc.
