PURPOSE AND DESIRED OUTCOMESThe Shire of Manjimup wish to appoint a suitable electrical contractor to supply and installnew street lighting to the new roundabout on the South Western Highway currently underconstruction in Manjimup.LOCATIONThe site is located on the South Western Highway, as indicated on the map below.
SCOPE OF WORKS1. Install only Light Poles and Luminaires
There are 23 new light poles to be installed. Four (4) light poles are available as Shiredecorative poles and the balance (19) are Western Power standard impact absorbing10.5m DM2 with a DM20, 3m single outreach arm all hot dip galvanised and painted

ebony black. All poles and outreach arms will be supplied by the Shire ofManjimup. Each light pole shall have an LED luminaire as detailed on the drawingsand supplied by the Shire of Manjimup.
Installation of the Western Power light poles and luminaires are to be in accordancewith the manufacturers details.
2. Installation of Shire Decorative Light Poles
Installation on the Shire Decorative light poles are shown on the drawings. Two of thelight poles are available from the Shire depot and two will need to be removed fromtheir current location at the Graphite/Perup Intersection and moved to their newlocations at the roundabout.
New bolt cages will need to be provided and installed prior to installing the light poles
New luminaires to match those on the Western Power light poles will be required.
One of the light poles in the depot will require a new 7 LED uplighter to the artwork.
An existing Shire decorative light pole on the SW Highway is too close to the widenedroad shoulder and will require relocating. A new bolt cage will be required for this
3. Supply of Installation of Cabling
The civil contractor for the construction of the roundabout will have installed conduitsand the necessary cable pits to all of the light pole locations. For this project, theelectrical contractor is to supply and install the cables to the light poles, test thecabling and get the necessary sign off from Western Power. Once Western Powerhas approved the installation, they will energise the lights through the unmeteredsupply located near to the Blechynden leg of the roundabout.
4. Traffic Management
The Contractor is to provide traffic management services as well as an approvedtraffic management plan for the works, noting that the works are adjacent to thebusy South Western Highway. The TMP is to be approved by the Shire and MainRoads WA prior to work commencing.
In the event that the civil contractor is still on site when the installation occurs, closeliaison with the contractor’s traffic management arrangement will be required toensure as little disruption to the traffic as possible.
5. Reinstatement and Clean-upReinstatement to kerbing, verges or bituminous road surfaces damaged or disturbedduring the course of the work will be the responsibility of the Contractor,

The site must be left in a clean and safe condition at the end of each working day andno rubbish, litter or any other material is to be left on site at completion of the works.
TIMING OF WORKSThe works are to be completed by 30 June 2018.
QUOTATION AND PRICINGQuotes shall be made using the form at the end of this document. Quotations are to includeall plant, labour and materials that will be required to undertake the works to thespecifications detailed in this document.
HEALTH SAFETY AND WELFAREThe contractor must at all times work within the requirements of the Occupational Safetyand Health Act 1984 and its Regulations and to Worksafe WA requirements and guidelines.
Before work commences the successful supplier is to provide: Risk assessments Safe work method statements (or similar)
INSURANCEThe contractor shall hold public liability insurance to a value not less than $10,000,000 andwritten evidence of all insurance must be provided with the Shire before commencement ofwork.The contractor shall indemnify and keep indemnified the Shire of Manjimup against theliability, loss, claim or proceedings whatsoever in respect of personal injury or death, of anyperson or damage whatsoever to any property arising out of and in any connections with theworks during and until completion and demobilisation from site.The contractor must ensure they carry current worker’s compensation insurance inaccordance with the current Workers Compensation and Injury Management Act 1981.
ORDERING INVOICING AND PAYMENTUpon selection of a supplier, the Shire of Manjimup will provide a purchase order to thesuccessful supplier. A copy of the order must be submitted with the invoice and payment willbe on thirty day terms from receipt of invoice. Payment for the works will be made within 30days of receipt of an invoice and once quality of the works is approved.
