Friday March 14 th 6-8 th grade and 4 th grade. PARENT TEACHER CONFERENCES AND KINDERGARTEN REGISTRATION COMING UP! Mark your calendars for March 27. Parent Teacher Conferences will be from 3:30 to 7:00. Kindergarten Registration will be from 12:00-7:00. Requirements for Kindergarten Registration: *Physical examination form. Required by the KY Dept. of Education. Local doctors have the prescribed form. This form must be completed no earlier than one year prior to the 2013-2014 school year. (Students who attended Preschool during 2013-2014 are not required to have a new physical. However if your student attended Preschool as a 3 year old in 2012-2013, a new physical is needed.) * An up- to- date immunization certificate *Social Security Card Must be presented prior to attending the first day of Kindergarten. * Birth Certificate Must be presented prior to the first day of Kindergarten. State law does not allow school officials to accept birth certificate cards, hospital birth certificates, or any other record. Only full size state issued birth certificates can be accepted. (If you need an application, see Mrs. Scott) Required BEFORE January 1, 2015: An eye exam by an optometrist or ophthalmologist must be completed on the state required eye exam form. If an eye exam was completed for Preschool for the 2013-2014 school year another exam is not required. The exam can be performed by a dentist, dental hygienist, physician, registered nurse, advanced registered nurse practitioner, or physician assistant. READ ACROSS AMERICA-----A HUGE SUCCESS!!!!! Read Across America: Read the Most from Coast to Coast was a HUGE success not only in our school but across the entire country! The goal for the entire country was to exceed 5,000,000 AR tests in one day. Well, the kids across America stepped up to the plate and passed 4,987,949 AR tests! That was close to the goal! That’s awesome! Our school results were just as impressive too. We had a total of 1,679 tests taken during the day on Friday February 28th. 1 st Place class was 5B with 283 tests passed 2 nd Place was 5A with 230 tests passed. 3 rd Place was a tie between 2 nd grade and 6A with 180 tests passed in each room.

Requirements for Kindergarten Registration:

*Physical examination form. Required by the KY Dept. of Education. Local doctors have the prescribed form. This form must be

GOVERNORS CUP

The Elementary Academic Team competed in the District Governor's

Cup at Hiseville Elementary on Saturday March 1st. We placed 2nd

overall with 32.5 points. We also placed 2nd in the Quick Recall

competition and will advance to Region at Eastern Elementary on

March 22nd. The following students will advance to Region in written

assessments:

Hugo Arce - 2nd place Math

Elora Avery - 5th place Social Studies

Luke Carter - 1st place Math, 2nd place Science

Christopher Hedges - 5th place Written Composition

Emily Poynter - 1st place Arts & Humanities, 4th place Social Studies, and 4th place
