ITSACHIEVEMENTS IN CLINICAL AND PHARMACEUTICAL RESEARCH
• Measured per capita, Denmark is one of the countries where most clinical trials are conducted in 2015
• The export of pharmaceutical products currently (2015) constitutes 13,5 % of Denmark’s total exports. The equivalent percentage in 2000 was 6 %
• The pharmaceutical industry is one of Denmark’s most productive sectors with a productivity that measured on the value added per employee is approximately 2.6 times as large as the business community as a whole
• Every year, the pharmaceutical industry invests more than DKK 10,8 bn in research and development of new medicinal products.
• It is approximately 30 % of all private research in Denmark

• Denmark has gone from being 99 % dependent on foreign
fossil fuel to being completely energy self-sufficient
• In 2015, 42 per cent of electricity was produced by
renewable sources
• 80 per cent of all offshore wind turbines are made in
Denmark
• World class research and talent pools have provided
excellent innovative and user-centered cleantech solutions
• Developed cleantech into the fastest-growing sector of
Danish exports, with no less than 46 research institutions
