What is Research and how do you Research new Technologies?

Research is done in 2 places, in the Alchemy Lab and in the Briton Workshop. Let’s have a

look at these 2 technology centers and point a few things out.

Because sometimes, for whatever reason, players have NOT completed their research.

The fault may be, that before Ascension, in order to get certain research, you needed to

upgrade a few buildings to level 12. Some players have not done that, and that could be that

they didn’t have the means to upgrade the buildings to that level.

With Ascension, certain buildings were merged into the city center. Namely the Workshop,

Blacksmith, Stable, Storehouse, Relief Station, Tavern. Buildings that you had to upgrade

previously for research levels. You don’t have to build these buildings anymore in the

ascension levels and they are automatically at the MAX level of 12. But some players thought

there research was completed and didn’t build alchemy labs anymore in favor of barracks &

cottages. BUT, nowadays when you want to train Shield Sorcerers you need an alchemy lab

again in the city ( level 10). If you have an alchemy lab at level 10 (upgrade it to 12) and check

if you have done ALL your researches.

PowerBot+ Quick & Easy Check ☺ Go to REFERENCE tab and then to RESEARCH LEVELS menu tab.

All RED circled are INCOMPLETE Researches!

If This tab lists the Research Level in GREEN then it is at

Max Level & Complete!

The Alchemy Lab

Assigning one of your Knights to the role of Alchemist will allow this Knight to use their Intelligence to speed up research being done in the Alchemy Lab.

The research tends to be more confusing to me than the Throne Room, due to how it

applies different researches to different troops and that, although Archers are “Ranged”

troops…when it comes to speed, they are considered as Infantry troops, while Supply

Wagons are considered Siege.

As all research is calculated from a troop’s BASE stat, the bonuses awarded from

them are constant depending on the research level obtained. Also, no matter what your

opponent has in their Throne Room…you will still get the full amount from these

bonuses. They are determined from the BASE stat of the troops prior to the Throne

Room even being considered.

So let’s point out the IMPORTANT researches.

(Max Level 12 Building & level 12 Research)

Poisoned Edge, in essence, makes all of your troops stronger. Adding 5% to your troops’ ATTACK stat means

that they will do 5% more damage on every attack. Affects All Troops

Metal Alloys increases DEFENSE, which means that it increases the amount of damage they can absorb before

the actually feel the effect of an attack. Affects All Troops

Magical Mapping increases your infantry troops’ SPEED stat. Infantry includes all of those troops form Archers

and below (Supply Troops, Militiamen, Scouts, Pike men, Swordsmen and Archers). Affects ONLY

INFANTRY TROOPS

Alloy Horseshoes increases the SPEED of you Horsed and Siege Weapons. Affects HORSED and SIEGE

WEAPONS

Projectile Troops? What are they? Well…they are the troops that technically shoot, i.e. Archers, Ballista and

Catapults, Onagers, Flamer Archers. Affects PROJECTILE TROOPS ONLY

Healing Potions’ description is actually worded wrong. It does not increase their “Health”, as there is no

“Health” stat for any troops. What it means if LIFE. It’s like a magic elixir that extends your troops’ life span

by 5%...making it take just a little longer to kill them off. Affects ALL TROOPS

Note : The research tends to be more confusing to me than the Throne Room, due to how it applies different

researches to different troops and that, although Archers are “Ranged” troops…when it comes to speed, they are

considered as Infantry troops, while Supply Wagons are considered Siege.

As all research is calculated from a troop’s BASE stat, the bonuses awarded from them are constant depending

on the research level obtained. Also, no matter what your opponent has in their Throne Room…you will still get

the full amount from these bonuses. They are determined from the BASE stat of the troops prior to the Throne

Room even being considered.

If you can put a ✔ after each research, then you have achieved all research at

Maximum Research Level.

The Briton Workshop

Ascending Briton also introduces players to the all-new Briton Workshop. Much

like the Alchemy lab, the Briton Workshop increases the number of technologies

players are able to research with a focus on Siege Tech. Every Briton Ascended city

is limited to 1 Briton Workshop. (Max Level 10 Building & level 10 Research)

The Briton workshop offers 6 new technologies that you can research.

If you can put a ✔ after each research, then you have achieved all research at

Maximum Research Level.

Once researched, all of the Bonuses are extended to all Cities. Keep in mind,

though, if you stop having at least one Briton Ascended city, the buff from these

technologies will be deactivated. ( read again)

An Example:

When I attacked a player today ( 50 billion might) , I noticed that My research of

Improved fletching ( green arrow) was correct at 20% but his Improved Fletching

was at 0% ( red arrow)

These are mistakes that can happen, but can cost you dearly, because you miss

20% in an important research. Check these 2 research and technology centers ,

and check if you have completed all research. If you can put a ✔ behind each and

every research, you good, if not, finish the (important) researches. Your troops

depend on them!

More Examples, by just checking reports via Alliance

Reports.

Player on right side didn’t finish Briton Research Improved Defenses.

Player on the left, unfinished research in Alchemy Lab.

Player on right, unfinished Briton research x4

+ Unfinished Alchemy Lab Research

Sharing is knowledge, and a lot of players are not sharing. Yes, it gives you and edge, or advantage, but

it leaves also many people clueless. The objective of these tutorials, is to teach, learn, educate players so ALL players have

a better under understanding of the game. The more players participate, the better the overall experience is for all players.

More attacking and defending means “lively” domains full of activity.
