I wanted to explore the latest collectionscoming out of LFW. I wanted to do this to understand the zeitgeist coming off the catwalks and understand similar aesthetics to my own. To help me decide where to go next with my preliminary research ideas to make what I create relevant to the industry now.

THENATIONAL OPEN ART EXHIBITION

I wanted to do some outside research looking at newly created art forms to understand what was up and coming and innovative. I visited Somerset houseto look at the “National Open Art Exhibition” however nothing hugely spoke to me in terms of design and nothing gave me that feeling of “newness”.

THENATIONAL OPEN ART EXHIBITION

Lottie Jackson Eeles The only work that really captured my eye was “Lottie Jackson Eele” her work was interesting and something that you could look at for hours and keep coming back to to discover something new in the images and that is what I loved about it. Her work was bright and eye catching and had the bonus of being something I could find myself staring at for ages. However still didnt give me the feeling of anything new going on.

EXPLORING NEW MEDIA

SCREENPRINT

After creating so many digital images throughoutmy university work, I decided I wanted to explore

a new way of creating print.

I decided to use one of my older print designs fromyear 2 to create a screen printed outcome, using this

print I experimented with different papers and usingtwo different print mediums to create something new.

I also created some new imagery to make new screenprint idea’s. However I feel I need to experiment morefirstly with my photography outcomes before turning

them into a new form of print.

Toying with concept ideas, I was panicking about the ideaof a concept for this project as I kew I liked the images I was creating but just wasn’t sure of where the idea’s were heading. I thought about an idea that was close to my heart. The idea of weightloss and body shape has always been a con-cern of mine and also a concern of thousands of women so I decided to create a series of images surrounding this focus. I do like the imagery I have created however I prefer them without the thought of the concept weighing them down looking more like a womans health supplement.

I wanted to look in to the idea of seperating the colour channels of my images to create a screen print with 3 or 4 layers corresponding to the CMYK colour chart. However after experimenting in photoshop, I decided against the idea before even making the screen print as I didnt think the image quality would be high enough for it to work effectively.
