Up to four recipients will be selected to receive 2-year GERRAF Fellowships beginning with the July 1999 academic year. GERRAF fellowships provide an annual stipend of $50,000 for 2 years to support original clinical and health services research in technology as- sessment, health and economic outcome methods, and decision analysis re- lated to diagnostic imaging. Recipients are chosen by an independent re- view board that comprises eminent academic and clinical radiologists, other physicians, and scholars in related fields. To qualify, prospective GERRAF candidates must be board-certified ra- diologists holding junior faculty appointments at accredited radiology training institutions in the United States or Canada. Final selection criteria include the goal and quality of the proposed research project, the level of cooperation and commitment of sponsoring institutions, and the recom- mendations of mentors and colleagues. Qualifying institutions may nominate one GERRAF candidate each year. Information packages are now being distributed directly to all eli- gible institutions. The nomination deadline is October 31, 1998. Recipients will be announced in February 1999. For more information, contact Michael A.
