RESOLUTION A.188(VI) adopted on 28 October 1969

THE ASSEI'IBLY,

NOTING Article 16(i) of the IMCO Convention concerning the functions of the Assembly,

RECALLING its Resolution A.89(IV), by which it approved the "Document for Guidance II on '.I.'raining of Masters, Officers and Seamen,

HAVING CONSIDERED the Reconmendations of the Mari t i.rie Safety Committee with regard to the report of the Joint IMCO/ILO Corunittee on Training (JCT I/1 dated 31 December 1968),

NOTING that the report has been adopted by the Governing Body of the International Labour Organisation,

DECIDES

(a) to adopt the "Document for Guidance - 1968" and its appendices,

(b) to invite the Secretary-General to disseminate to Member States, Contracting Governments to the International Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea, 1960 and States which participated in the International Conference on Safety of Life at Sea, 1960, the "Document for Guidance - 196811 which supersedes the similar document approved by

Resolution A.89(IV),

(c) to recommend its implementation by all concerned,

and

(d) to authorize the Maritime Safety Committee to approve any necessary amendments and additions to the 11Document for Guidance - 1968" and act as necessary.
