administration apparatus, environmental control systems, and aerosol generators, following specified parameters of treatment.

Provides emergency care, including artificial respiration, external cardiac massage and assistance with cardiopulmonary resuscitation.

Determines requirements for treatment, such as type, method and duration of therapy, precautions to be taken, and medication and dosages, compatible with physicians' orders.

Monitors client's physiological responses to therapy, such as vital signs, arterial blood gases, and blood chemistry changes, and consult with physician if adverse reactions occur.

Reads the prescription, measures arterial blood gases, and reviews client information to assess patient condition.

Works as part of a team of physicians, nurses and other health care professionals to manage client care.

Enforces safety rules and ensures careful adherence to physicians' orders. Maintains charts that contain clients' pertinent identification and therapy

information. Inspects, cleans, tests and maintains respiratory therapy equipment to ensure

Support Staff: Dental - Prosthetics (HCT091) – Designs, prepares, fabricates and repairs dentures or dental appliances as prescribed by dentists and other specialists.

Responsibilities Read prescriptions or specifications, and examine models and impressions, in

order to determine the design of dental products to be constructed. Fabricate, alter, and repair dental devices such as dentures, crowns, bridges,

inlays, and appliances for straightening teeth. Trains others in fabricating dentures and other dental devices. Test appliances for conformance to specifications and accuracy of occlusion,

using articulators and micrometers. Melt metals or mix plaster, porcelain, or acrylic pastes; and pour materials into

molds or over frameworks in order to form dental prostheses or apparatus. Prepare metal surfaces for bonding with porcelain to create artificial teeth, using

small hand tools. Remove excess metal or porcelain, and polish surfaces of prostheses or

frameworks, using polishing machines. Create a model of patient's mouth by pouring plaster into a dental impression and

allowing plaster to set. Load newly constructed teeth into porcelain furnaces in order to bake the

porcelain onto the metal framework. Performs administrative functions for the laboratory.

patients to collect information on type and degree of impairment, using specialized instruments, electronic equipment, and/or written and oral tests.

Counsels and instructs clients in techniques to improve hearing or speech impairment, including sign language or lip-reading.

Examines and cleans clients' ear canals. Fits and dispenses assistive devices, such as hearing aids. Maintains client records at all stages, including initial evaluation and discharge. Plans and conducts treatment programs for clients' hearing or speech problems,

Recommends assistive devices according to clients' needs or nature of impairments.

analysis. Operates diagnostic equipment such as radiographic and ultrasound equipment,

and interpret the resulting images. Advises animal owners’ regarding sanitary measures, feeding, and general care

necessary to promote health of animals. Educates the public about diseases that can be spread from animals to humans. Trains and supervises workers who handle and care for animals. Enforces government regulations in disease control and food production including

animal or animal-based food inspection. Provides euthanasia services.

care. Develops staffing patterns. Develops policies, sets standards and plans objectives for the nursing program in accordance with

established policies. Makes long-range plans and regularly reviews activities, problems and functions of services being

delivered. Provides staff development including orientation, in-service training, workshops and continuing

education for all levels of nursing staff. Interprets policies and communicates changes in regulations and procedures. Oversees the collection of data for statistical records. Organizes and plans a systematic and continuous quality/performance improvement program for the

practice of nursing. Evaluates nursing standards and nurse protocols for all nursing programs. Coordinates response to disaster and emergencies. Initiates and participates in the development of community wide policy to improve the health status of

the stakeholder. Reviews state, federal, and other regulatory standards information in order to direct the quality

improvement activities and achieve compliance. Develops and manages the budget and makes cost effective decisions.

equipment. Participates in strategic planning, identifying programs and services that should have a nutrition

component and integrates plans into the overall agency health plan and budget. Assesses nutrition and diet-related health problems and available resources to determine present and

forecast future needs. Participates in developing agency health policy and assuring that food and nutrition-related issues are

included. Reviews proposed legislation, guidelines, and standards by federal, state, and local organizations

affecting nutrition services. Develops, implements, and monitors standards for nutritional services. Prepares grant proposals and contracts to obtain funds for expansion of nutritional services. Budgets multiple source nutrition funding (i.e., WIC, Medicaid, third party reimbursements, grant and

contract funds) in compliance with federal, state, and local standards. Manages human resource and employee relations functions.

Management Staff: Therapy Services (HCM050/HCM051/HCM052)- Manages and directs the development of programs and policies that govern the operation of therapy services (i.e., Physical, Occupational, Recreational, Audiology, and Speech and Language Pathology, etc.).

Responsibilities Directs and participates in the development and implementation of patient care policies, procedures, and

protocols. Develops and maintains a staff development and education program for therapy services. Maintains relationships with professional schools and organizations as necessary in order to facilitate

recruiting activities. Oversees compliance with JCAHO, CARF, and all other applicable guidelines and standards. Directs and coordinates the integration of therapy services function with other aspects of the overall

patient care plans. Identifies training needs and ensures that necessary job-related instruction is provided to staff. Manages the operating budget. Makes presentations to community groups, colleges, technical schools on therapy services topics.
