We hope to see you at the Restoration Celebration.
ATTENTION ALL ADULTS! Bring your lawn chairs and enjoy the

Easter Sunday
I just want to thank the Lord for a few things today:
1) The music Sunday at our Easter service was wonderful!
Thank you John Holland, Brenda Etheridge, Melanie
Bartlett, Lisa Price, Choir, Harry Foster, & Chris Adams.
Your work & preparation certainly showed! Thanks also to
Mark Maxwell for leading music Sunday night!
2) Theresa Hendrix outdid herself setting up our “Path to
Resurrection” service at 8 AM Sunday. The nine “stations”
each reminded us of the events leading up to the cross and,
eventually, the empty tomb. Theresa – beautiful idea and
beautiful execution!
3) The Men’s Prayer Breakfast gang who cooked our breakfast
Sunday. You guys always do such a good job – and you’re
kind of funny to listen to, too!
4) Andrea Martin & Bobby Guin did great reading the names of
Jesus in all 66 books of the Bible! If you’ve never heard that
done before, I hope Sunday was meaningful for you.
5) Our teenagers who helped walk in the banners did a great job
too! Thanks, you guys, for always being willing to help!
6) Any time we have to bring in 50 extra chairs for a service, it
makes the preacher happy! Let’s hope we have to keep them
out there!
7) Finally, welcome to Mrs. Clara Swick, who moved her letter
to FBC Sunday morning. As Mrs. Clara gets assimilated into
our church family, let’s all reach out and encourage her.
God’s blessings to each of you, and I hope you have a wonderful
rest of the week!
See You Sunday!
Stephen

Now that the Easter season is over and Spring Break has
passed, I have been reminded that another school year is about
to come to an end! That means that everyone’s calendars will
begin filling up with parties and other events. Make note of
these important upcoming events and include them in your
future plans.
Widow’s and Widower’s Banquet – Monday, April 28 at
6:00 p.m. The menu will consist of pork tenderloin with
all the trimmings and entertainment will be provided by
Winnfield’s own, Leroy James. Please sign up in the
church office if you plan to attend.
Graduate Recognition Service – Sunday, May 4 at 11:00
a.m. Traditionally, we set aside the first Sunday in May to
honor our graduating seniors for the accomplishments they
have made in school. This service is always a high point
in our church year, so make plans to join us.
Mother’s Day Recognition Service – Sunday, May 11 at
11:00 a.m.
Senior Adult Recognition Day – Sunday, May 18 at
11:00 a.m. We will honor the Senior Adults of our church
on this day for their service to our Lord and to our church.
This is a day that includes many surprises, so don’t miss
it!
Vacation Bible School – On June 2 through June 6 First
Baptist Church will be under surveillance with
Agency D3. Children that attend will learn to
discover, decide, and defend that Jesus is God’s son.

Youth Ministry OUR BLESSED HOPE:
This Sunday we’ll resume Our Blessed Hope Bible
study. Last time we met, we discussed the purpose and
timing of the Rapture. Our discussion was lively and
interactive, as most people were very eager to express
their individual opinions on and interpretations of this
mysterious yet wonderful eschatological event.
This week, we’ll study the Antichrist, the False
Prophet, and the Tribulation. We will meet at 4:30pm
in the Old Fellowship Hall (formerly 39 & Holding,
now Pairs & Spares). Get ready for more discussion as
we’ll spend the first few minutes addressing any
lingering questions you may have. I think this will be
a great Bible study that will inspire us to “live self-
controlled, upright, and godly lives in the present age,
waiting for our blessed hope, the appearing of the glory
of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ” (Titus 2:12-
13).
FUGE 2014:
FUGE this year will be at Mississippi College on July
6-10. A $100 deposit is due this Sunday to reserve
your spot. The cost is $290 per person. Please sign up
and reserve you spot as soon as possible.
Y’all are the best!

End of the Year Celebration
It is hard to believe that the school year is
nearing completion. We have just two sessions
of Music & Missions left for this year and this
Sunday night is our last Bible Drill Meeting
for the current school year. We are planning to
recognize the students that have participated in
our mission activities and programs
on Wednesday, May 14 at 6:30 p.m. in the
Family Life Center. Students will perform and
will receive awards for their participation in
Children's Choir, Missions, Bible Drill, & Fast
Forward. We invite everyone to join us as we
celebrate the accomplishments of firstKIDS
and announce our summer schedule of
activities.
Education Ministry
Have you noticed the changes in FBC Sunday School? Three small groups
have changed classrooms to accommodate numbers of Sunday School attenders.
“39 and Holding” members are now in Room #3 - the old “Seekers” classroom.
“Seekers” are now meeting in Room #7 - formerly “Pairs and Spares”. “Pairs
and Spares” are now gathering each Sunday in the Old Fellowship Hall
previously occupied by “39 and Holding”.
These changes were made with little effort and no fuss. Imagine that! Each of
the three classes was co-operative and willing. This proves change can be
accommodated without an uproar. Think about this when change comes your
way.
Thank you to all members of the three classes. May God bless your Bible
study.
See you in Sunday School,
Theresa
