The restyling industry is thriving, but also in transition. With consumers shifting from cars into pickups, SUVs or CUVs, the restyling segment has likewise followed suit. While core products are still popular, other areas are experiencing growth. There is increasing emphasis on truck accessories and crossover products—seat heaters, blind-spot monitoring and backup warn-ing systems and some performance products, for instance. This presents

growth opportunities for retrofitting late-model vehicles as well as upfitting new vehicles that are not equipped with all the bells and whistles. At the same time, however, vehicle technology is becoming increasingly complex. This poses some technical challenges for the restyling segment, which PRO has been working to address. That said, our industry has a history of overcoming challenges with innovative solutions. Today’s consumers still want vehicles that express their personal image and lifestyle, be it with appearance, performance or electronics products. And though trends and technology are constantly evolving, in my estimation, there will continue to be strong interest in vehicle personalization.
