My first question that I asked on my survey that was created using Survey Monkey was ‘What is your gender?’ The majority of the people who answered were female which suggests that I should create a music video targeted more towards females however a male audience needs to be taken into consideration when choosing a theme for my music video.

The second question that was asked was the age of the people who took the survey. The majority were ages 17-18 years old while a minority was 25 years old and over. An audience that is mostly teenagers suggests that I should include a theme that most teenagers today can relate to whilst involving a theme that all ages can relate to.

Question number 3 asks what genre of music they listen to. Indie and Rock music were the popular choice and therefore I should probably try to use a popular artist in the indie genre as it can be a style of music that anyone can enjoy.

9 out of the 10 people who took my survey said that they watch music video which suggests that my music video will be interesting for them to watch. I could also target my video to the 1 person who doesn’t watch them and make it an interesting thing for them to watch. It may even make them watch other music videos after mine.

The majority of the people said that they watch music videos on YouTube and the rest watch them through the TV. This therefore means that I should make my video available on YouTube as it is the most popular media platform to view music videos.

3 people said that they usually watch music videos more than 5 times a week. Two times a week is another popular amount of times that people watch music videos each week which suggests I should aim my video at these people mostly as they are the ones who enjoy them. I should also try and make my music video appealing to the rest of the people who took my survey to encourage them to watch more music videos.

Half of the people who took this survey said that they had a favourite video and only 4 said that they did not. 1 person skipped the question. I should try to create a music video that is similar to their favourite music video in a hope to appeal to them so they will watch my music video and enjoy it.

Many people said that a music video is important for a successful song which is what I aim to do. I want to create a music video that can make my chosen song even better and I want my audience to watch my music video and think that it is better with a video rather than just listening to it via the radio or through their phones.

Adventure is the most popular theme that my audience would like to explore through my music video. I could do this by going to different locations to film such as a park or on different streets to create a sense of adventure or a journey.

A narrative music video is most popular amongst the people who answered my survey. This suggests that I should aim to do a music video that tells a story and that make the audience know that there is a story being told. Narrative music videos seem to be the most emotional ones and this is what I want to try and administer to my audience.
