Complete Race Fulfilment 9 Bib number design and production 9 Leaflet printing and folding 9 Race pack collation and packing 9 Bulk postage service with volume breaks

We know what really matters when it comes to event fulfilment. Our clients vary from first time events that need help throughout the process to seasoned events with 15,000+ competitors.Regardless of size, our professional and dedicated team will support you through the process, providing you with a whole range of services:

Bib number productionIn many events providing a race number for the competitors is essential not just for the timing but also for the sport photography and safety. We have designed and produced bib numbers for many years now as part of our fulfilment services. Making sure the design of your bib number is right is essential for the future marketing of your event. The bib number can display sponsor logos, club names, runner names, team names, bus tickets, bag tickets or any requested information from the database. At Results Base we can provide the bib numbers in either Pretex or Tyvek (a stronger material preferred by organisers of multisport and extreme events). Our standard size is A5 and the Tyvek bibs also come in 210mm by 210mm with the option of a tear-off baggage label integrated into the number. All our bibs can be printed in full colour or black only on one or both sides.

Black Box timingAt Results Base we pride ourselves on using cutting edge timing technology and always being at the forefront of timing system development. The Black Box is a custom-designed RFID timing system that can be tailored to suit your sport. We can even mix-and-match tags during an event to get the optimum results so, for example, cycle laps in a multisport event can be recorded off a helmet tag while the main timing is done by ankle tags. The Black Box can be connected directly or can be used on remote split points sending data wirelessly back to your race headquarters. This means you can have live data all the way through your event giving immediate online results.

Disposable UHF loop tag For all road running and off-road events

Our most affordable and popular timing chip is lightweight and as the name says, loops through the trainer’s laces. The loop itself is a virtually indestructible Tyvek strip and the ends stick together with a strong 3M adhesive. The chip itself is incorporated into the Tyvek strip and registers when passing over the race mats around the course.

Disposable UHF ‘chip on bib‘ For all road running and some off-road events

A solution that is growing in popularity is the ‘chip on bib’ system. Although this comes at a slightly higher cost than the loop tag it does have some very important benefits. For the organiser the bib and chip come as one item so as long as the runner puts the bib on they don’t need to worry about the chip. Because we provide generally the bib as well the organiser gets a great price on the bib numbers, however we can attach the chips to bib numbers provided by clients subject to certain constraints.

Disposable UHF helmet chip For all forms of road and off-road cycle events.

Introducing this helmet chip to clients several years ago completely changed how we time cycling events. The lightweight chip sticks to the rider’s helmet and does not come off until the rider removes it after the event is finished. The chip registers when it passes antenna mounted on the side of the road. The beauty of this system is safety and reliability, with no mats to ride over the rider has absolutely no contact with the timing system at any point.

Multisport chip For aquathlon, duathlon & triathlon events plus extreme adventure-style races.

The constantly varying conditions of a multisport race mean that it requires a timing chip attached to the athlete rather than a show or a helmet. Our standard multisport chip is enclosed in a waterproof casing that is attached to the athlete’s ankle by soft neoprene and Velcro strap.

Whether you are an event organiser looking for a quality solution that is still affordable, or a runner that wants a chip that doesn’t add any weight or obstruction Results Base have the right system.

Race archesWe can supply race arches including inflatables and self-supporting metal arches. Coming in various sizes and colours they really add presence to a finish line, start line or even a remote split point.

PA system with wireless microphone and musicNothing creates a better atmosphere at an event than some music or a commentator, or both. Adding a PA system gives you the chance to speak to all your competitors, do a warm-up, tell the spectators who is finishing or just play some music. Our PA systems all come ready with MP3 player inputs and high quality wireless microphones – our event crew will set it all up for you.

Remote timing splitIncluding a remote split in your setup can provide location checks on long routes, perhaps a hill climb challenge or simply confirm the number of laps on a looped course.

Wide start lineDepending on your event location or the volume of athletes in your race there may be a requirement for a wider start than standard. Our standard lines are 4metres wide but we can provide for up to a 10metre wide start line to accommodate any volume.

Race day equipmentProviding the right look and feel for your event is very important to the competitors’ enjoyment and satisfaction...

Commentator systemAdding a commentator system can transform your event. We provide an extra timing system up to 100metres before the finish and link it to commentator display on a tablet device. When a runner passes this extra timing point the information comes up on the tablet telling the commentator who is about to finish, the time, their club and, if the information has been provided, the reason they are running.

Results display and printerOnce your competitor has crossed the finish line we can immediately provide them with printout of their times to take home. This will show the event name, optional sponsor logos, and competitor details, split times and so on. It is also possible to have a rolling display of finishers and race leaders shown on a screen and our website can be configured to display this as well.

Bike rackingFor multisport events bike racking is generally a requirement and this can be difficult to arrange. We have various types of racking to cover all event needs.

...adding key elements to the event can completely transform it with a coresponding increase in repeat attendance.

Live resultsAs long as there is a data connection to the Internet available (and our timing teams always carry 3G modems) we will automatically upload race data live to our results page. This data can also be embedded into your event website and viewed in a mobile-friendly format on your competitor’s phones.

SMS resultsIt is possible to send results direct to a mobile by SMS and this can be done from the finish or any intermediate split point. Athletes may wish to have their results additionally sent to friends or family and this service can also be sponsored as part of the event package.

Live trackingFor long distance events such as marathons, stage races or middle and long course triathlons which have intermediate timing points on the route we can provide a predictive tracking display. Linked to a Google map on our website this uses predictive (age and gender derived) speeds which are constantly updated whenever a timing point is reached. This provides a great overview of the event for friends and family following from home.

Social mediaAfter the event is complete your competitors can visit our website to see the full results with each athlete having a linked statistics page showing split times, pace, speed, VO2 and more. At this point there are options to send a link to social media feeds such as Facebook and Twitter about the event they have just completed.

Advertise your next eventThe Results Base website gets a large volume of traffic (up to 500,000 hits per month) from athletes coming to register for events and then coming back to check their results. We have several slots across the website where you can advertise your current events. Please enquire for more detailed information.

Payment SecurityOur online entry system collects the athlete data but all payment transactions are handled through the ePay payment gateway service across a secure link. This means that athlete card details are never stored on our system, only the transaction number and status. Collected funds are held in a separate account and transferred to organisers on an agreed schedule.

Charges The online entry management fee can either be included in the ticket price or shown separately. This per-entrant fee is based on a stepped scale rather than a percentage. Over the range of prices that are normal it significantly undercuts all other major online entry services. The actual card processing fees are collected from the entrant as part of the checkout process and are clearly displayed. The card type used will determine the fee charged but this is typically around 1.2-1.5%. Where athletes are entering and then settling by cash or cheque payment rather than with a card no charge is made so long as the volume of these entries does not exceed 5% of the total. VIP, charity and cheque entries handled directly through the back-office and on-the-day entries for cash are not charged.
