Retinoblastoma Awareness Celebration

The Sajeev-Cankids RB Fund Presents:

 • Raise awareness about retinoblastoma among

parents, doctors, media and community members.

• Provide survivors of RB and children who are currently afflicted with RB with a day of enjoyment and entertainment.

• Promote the CanKids AV which advocates for the early detection of RB

• Allow for parents of RB patients to meet with the doctors and medical staff to address their concerns

 

Purpose of the Celebration:

 • 32 cancer survivors attended the program with their parents

• Media from Public Channels, Jain TV, Dainik Jagran, Times of India, Doordarshan and DD NEWS  came to cover the event 

• 25 attendees from RP center including head of the department, senior doctor, senior resident and junior residents.

• CanKids Team, PSG members and KCK.

• Fragrances – a group of self-employed women who involve themselves in our children’s outings program

• RB children were given art supplies so that they could make whatever picture they desired.

• RB children with compromised vision were aided by a Cankids teacher.

• Meanwhile, in the lounge, the parents were discussing any concerns they had with the RB doctors and the CanKids team in our 1st RB PARENT SUPPORT FORUM

Lunch

RB children and their parents were provided with a nutritious lunch.

• All of the attendees enjoyed the magic show that was

full of different tricks and spectacle that include fire

tricks, vanishing coins, cutting and restoring ropes

and much more!

Storytelling Show

A storytelling show about a family of fish was put on by the ladies from Fragrance

Awareness talks• Dr. Azad, Head of the dept.,

Professor Ghosh, Dr. Bhavna and Ms. Poonam Bagai spoke about RB to the families, nurses, junior doctors, media and service providers.

•45 second RB Flash photo (spot adapted from the INCTR Brazilian-LVPEI spot )- dubbed in 6 regional languages was released

•Cankids announced the Sajeev Cankids Awareness and Patient Support Program for RB in India – as well as the RB Fund
