Directions from Hornsby

Follow the Pacific Highway through Hornsby and turn left at Galston Road (approx. 2km past Hornsby Station).Proceed along Galston Road through Galston Gorge.Turn left at the first roundabout after the gorge onto Calderwood Road (approx. 3km past the bridge).Turn left into Pine Valley Road.Turn left into Crusader Road - the Centre is at the very end of the road.

Head north on New Line Road.Continue north on Old Northern Road to Dural shops.

Travelling by Train

Family Lodges sleep up to ten people in two rooms. Each room contains a double bed with single bunk above and another set of single bunks, en-suite bathroom, air-conditioning and a large covered verandah.

LEADERS LODGES

Leaders Lodges sleep 4 people in two rooms, each containing either a king double or two king single beds. These rooms have air-conditioning, tea and coffee facilities and a writing desk, plus a balcony with expansive bushland views.

This lodge can be configured as a twin or double room as shown below. Please advise how you would like the room configured prior to camp. Linen is provided for this room at no extra charge.

Lyrebird Lodges sleep up to 7 people in five rooms (two rooms sleep 7 and three rooms sleep 6). Rooms contain bunk beds (single and/or double). Each room contains an en-suite bathroom and air-conditioning.

● Salads will be served with every lunch and dinner and a different selection of salads will be supplied depending on the day (e.g. garden salad, potato salad, pasta salad, Caesar salad, rice salad and cous cous salad).

● A range of salads for kids is also available. ● Hot and cold drinks, coffee machine and fresh fruit will

be available all day, every day (selection of Sir Thomas Lipton teas, Moccona & Nescafe coffees & Milo).

● A buffet of cereals is available every day for breakfast. Cereals on offer include: Nutrigrain, Weetbix, Cornflakes, Rice Bubbles, Light ‘n’ Tasty

and a gluten-free cereal range.

● Supper is served at the end of each day, sample platters include: fruit, biscuits, cakes and slices, potato crisps, popcorn, cheese and crackers, veggie sticks, cinnamon toast, scones or muffins.

● Morning and afternoon tea is served each day, sample items include: scones with jam and cream, fresh fruit platters, cakes and slices, home-made biscuits, bowls of fresh fruit, chocolate brownies, variety of muffins, flavoured milks and cordials.

SPECIAL DIETARY REQUIREMENTS

Crusaders want everyone to feel welcome at camp, so we are delighted to cater for the following special dietary requirements.

PLEASE NOTE:Not all special dietary requirements can be catered for.

● Each special diet provided consists of three (3) main meals (Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner). Fresh fruit is provided for special diet snacks at other times (Morning Tea, Afternoon Tea, Supper).

● See the sample menu to assist those needing to bring their own supplements from home. Fridge & Freezer Space are available as well as a Microwave for reheating and a Gluten Free toaster.

ALLERGIES AND ANAPHYLAXIS TO VARIOUS FOODS ● The site does not use whole nuts or nut pieces - however as a commercial kitchen, we cannot provide food that is free of traces of nuts or

other allergens, or guarantee that a special diet is free from cross contamination with other food items. If there is any concern, guests are recommended to bring their own food.

CAMP PACK LIST

For camps at Galston Gorge Conference & Recreation Centre, each person will need to bring:

Sleeping bag and inner-sheet or sheets and blankets/doona* Pillowcase* Bath towel Suitable clothing for the duration of your stay (including warmer clothes for cooler months) Sturdy shoes or runners (suitable for bushwalking) Hat (beanie/scarf/gloves for winter) Sunscreen Swimmers and beach towel (in warmer months) Toiletries Water bottle Insect repellent and bite spray Torch Pen or pencil and note paper Wet weather gear Bible (optional) Extra recreational items such as novels, packs of cards, board games, musical instruments, etc (optional)

*Campers are responsible for bringing all their own linen (including pillow case, sheets, towel, sleeping bag, doona or blankets). The Centre will supply a mattress and pillow for each bed.

A limited number of Linen Sets are available for hire at a small fee. Linen must be booked with the site 2 weeks before your stay. If a significant number of linen sets are requested, we ask that you contact us at least one month in advance. Any additional doonas issued during your stay will be charged at a small fee per doona.

● We recommend you don’t bring valuables, The Galston Gorge Conference & Recreation Centre accepts no responsibility for personal property brought onsite.

● Harness Activities: If your group is taking part in abseiling, high ropes course or indoor rock climbing, shirts must be able to be ‘tucked in’ for personal safety. Guests will not be allowed to participate in these activities if wearing clothes which expose the skin around the waist and hips.

● Bushwalks: Appropriate shoes are required for this activity. We also recommend wearing long pants.
