Obituary
Reve’ Monique Sterling
Reve’ Monique Sterling born in the city of Bellflower, CA on June 20, 1971 (Father’s Day) to the proud
parents Theaodus Nathaniel Sterling Jr. and Kathy-Newsome Sterling.
The name "Reve" is of English origin and it means "Steward".
R is for rational, the way you think.
E is for endear, all those you touch.
V is for volunteer, your giving side.
E is for eternal, your spirit will live.
Reve is 2nd child born within the wedded union of Nathaniel & Kathy. The 1st child being Antoinette
Pinkney-Hardy. Brothers and sister include: Broderick, Theaodus III, Marvin, Raynard and Necole
Sterling.
After graduating from high school Reve’ had her 1st child Will Aaron followed by Andre and Ashley . Her
children were the delight of her life. A mother striving for the best for her children. The
grandchildren certainly put a sparkle in her life and pep in her step. She would round them up and spend
time with each one. She had a genuine heart of gold. A Free spirited person accepting life as it came
along. Everyone that knew Reve’, thought of her as family. She accumulated and valued many
friendships over the years and would communicate with them regularly by visitation, Face book or phone.
She loved to get together with family & friends. This was a crucial and important extension of her life
In her spare time she enjoyed writing short stories, shopping, bowling, horse racing and slots. Her
greatest pastime was basketball and football. Reve’ was truly a daddy’s girl as she participated in all of
his activities up to the time of his death three years ago.
In the latest years of her life, Reve found a new love. She began to thirst for the Living Water. There was
a hunger for the Lord that could not be surpassed. She studied and applied the Word to her life. She was
on a mission telling everyone who would listen of His goodness. Her job must have been sufficient as the
Lord honored her request to come home. He promised His children eternal life with no more pain and
suffering.
On Aug. 16, 2015, at 3:00am at California Hospital & Medical Center, God called His angel, Reve
Monique Sterling home. She was peacefully joined by loved ones who had preceded her in death: dad;
Nathaniel Sterling. grandparents; Berta Mae & Theaodus Sterling Sr., Leon & Lennie Newsome along
with a host of aunts and uncles.
To cherish Reve’s memories she leaves behind her children: Will Aaron Ervin, Andre Deshone Bisserup
& Ashley Unique Bisserup. Mother: Kathy Sterling. Sisters: Antoinette Hardy, Necole Sterling. Brothers:&
sister-in-laws: Broderick, Theaodus III & (Andrea Sterling) Marvin Raynard & (Felicia
Sterling). Grandchildren: Janiya & Karleah Bisserup, Domill, Harmony, Noah and Joshlyn Ervin. Along
with a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, family and friends.
My Way And now, the end is near;
And so I face the final curtain.
My friend, I'll say it clear,
I'll state my case, of which I'm certain.
I've lived a life that's full.
I've traveled each and every highway;
And more, much more than this,
I did it my way.
Regrets, I've had a few;
But then again, too few to mention.
I did what I had to do
And saw it through without exemption.
I planned each charted course;
Each careful step along the byway,
And more, much more than this,
I did it my way.
Yes, there were times, I'm sure you knew
When I bit off more than I could chew.
But through it all, when there was doubt,
I ate it up and spit it out.
I faced it all and I stood tall;
And did it my way.
I've loved, I've laughed and cried.
I've had my fill; my share of losing.
And now, as tears subside,
I find it all so amusing.
To think I did all that;
And may I say - not in a shy way,
"Oh no, oh no not me,
I did it my way".
For what is a man, what has he got?
If not himself, then he has naught.
To say the things he truly feels;
And not the words of one who kneels.
The record shows I took the blows -
And did it my way!
Yes, it was my way.
I am no longer by your side, but there’s no need to
weep;
I’ve left sweet recollections I’m hoping you will keep.
Eternal joy and memories stay in our hearts forever,
Strengthening our special bond that parting cannot
server.
Now it’s time to journey on, so let your faith be strong
For I am in a better place…I’m home where I belong.
But, still if times of loneliness bring sorrow and dismay,
Don’t despair for I am there…Just a memory away.

The family of Reve’ Sterling
I am set free from all my misery and pain, because
my Lord said to me, “No longer will I set in the storm
and rain.”
He called my name, “Reve,” come home to me and
your family. I will wipe away their weeping faces.”
For I am I a better place, a place which is a loving
home for my pain that needs healing. He is my
doctor that won’t leave me alone. I am set free,
though He laid me down to rest. But you all stay
strong for, for this is only a test to see if you can keep
it together. No matter if there is death or stormy
weather.
To my family, friends, and loved ones…

A Child’s Love
Hello Mother
I was just thinking of you
I know that it will be hard
To stop missing everything about you
Many days will come and go with me asking why
But it’s out of my hands because your with the Lord in the sky
You were so gracious in giving us the gift of lift
Yet, some disease felt the need to take yours away
But not without a fight
God left parts of you in us to help raise your grandsons
Help us in spirit to teach them as you’ve taught us how to love
Be their inspiration as you were ours
Teach them to be honorable, trust – worthy and to value family
time
When times get rough, We know you’ll always be there
Your words meant so much to us throughout the years
You may have even noticed that some moments caused tears
The love that we’ve shared, nothing can take away
Mom, know that our hearts are full even on this day
The pain will be a constant reminder of that dreadful moment in
time
But the family has been here to wipe our tears and take the pain
away
Hello mother, here we are again
We feel you watching over us
Helping us to get through each moment of the day
We will be encouraged and continue to pray
Because this we know, pain won’t last always
No matter what is going on We know God sees our fears
Whenever we need strength, we feel your presence near
We will be strong Mom as you’ve taught us to be
One day the pain will pass, but never your legacy
