MERRY CHRISTMAS & THANK YOU REVIEW 2016 1/3 It´s remarkable, how fast the year has passed! Christmas is here again ... Most likely, this is a familiar feeling for you too. We would like to pause for a moment and review the last year, which has undoubtedly been full of events: CREATIVE START At the beginning of the year, it was particularly our development department, that had a lot of work to do. The computers of our engineers were humming full speed, and the test beds were not allowed to take a break. Here in Denkendorf (almost) everything revolved around the develop- ment of the new C-line. In total, we have worked quietly on the project for more than 18 months. At the beginning, design, materials and features were at the center of our work. Later on, we were focused on the selection of manufacturers and on the many, many tests to mention only a handful of the most important development phases. TECHNICAL TRAINING & DEALER SUPPORT At the same time, the Eurobike Academy on Tour took place in the first quarter. Our expert team trained numerous interested retailers in Frank- furt, Leipzig, Hanover and Munich. OUR TECHNOLOGY IN LONDON Between March and June, our P1.18 gearbox was part of the „Cycling Revolution“ exhibition at the London Design Museum. It makes us proud and happy at the same time that our transmission technology was given such importance in this metropolis of urban cycling. ENGINEERING POWER Two young engineers, Linus Geiger and Ronny Petschke, joined our R & D department early this year. Linus started his master thesis on swit- ching control and Ronny started his master thesis on component optimization in the spring. Linus has since received an award for his work. His findings are now one-to-one in our development work, and Ronny has joined as a full member our team as of December. NUMEROUS EVENTS 2016, what a year of events: CMT Stuttgart, Velo Berlin, Bike Festival Willingen and Eurobike. We have never shown our pinion gearboxes at so many trade fairs, and never before have we had so many test bikes out at the events.

REVIEW 2016 1/3

It´s remarkable, how fast the year has passed! Christmas is here again ... Most likely, this is a familiar feeling for you too. We would like to pause for a moment and review the last year, which has undoubtedly been full of events:

CREATIVE STARTAt the beginning of the year, it was particularly our development department, that had a lot of work to do. REVIEW 2016 2/3

A SPECIAL PROJECT: KAMRAN ALI – “Cycling to the North“A new special project is our cooperation with the world traveler Kamran Ali. In January 2016, Kamran set off on his journey. The goal: From the South of Fire (Argentina) to Alaska (USA) - by bike, of course! Expressed in kilometers, this is about 25,000. At this time, Kamran has crossed the 10,000 km mark in Peru and is moving gradually northwards. Kamran rides a Stevens P18 bike equipped with our Pinion P1.18. The gearbox just runs and runs. Kamran graces large parts of our 2017 catalog, which is available for download at www.pinion.eu.More about Kamran and his project „Cycling to the North“ at facebook.de/kamranonbike.

PERSONNEL GROWTHWhile our team had 15 employees at the start of the year, we will finish 2016 with 22 employees at our location in Denkendorf. We have strengt-hened our staff in the Research & Development, Operations, Sales, Service and Marketing departments.

The new additions (in the photo by l. n. r.): Maik Geletneky (head of sales), Natalie Abaza (sales, since 2015), André Effe (technical sales), Andrea Eitel (sales, since 2014), Linus Geiger (development), Nico Casella (technical support / service), Andrea Escher (communications / marketing), Marc Epple (operations) and Ronny Petschke (development) strengthen the existing team in Denkendorf.

LAUNCH OF THE NEW C-LINE & EUROBIKE AWARD 2016Just in time for Eurobike: the presentation of our new product line could really be said to be the highlight of the year for us. At Eurobike, our booth was very busy, and our employees in the open-air area were overwhelmed by the enormous demand and had all hands full sending out pinion test bikes. Our Eurobike appearance was crowned with the award of the Eurobike Award 2016. In addition, „pinkbike“ users voted the Zerode Taniwha with pinion gearbox, the most innovative mountain bike of the Eurobike 2016.

REVIEW 2016 3/3

TEST REVIEWS & INNOVATIONSPREISThis year Pinion was also very present in print and online media thanks to the introduction of the C line. Of course, we are always very happy when „pinion bikes“ do well in tests. And they did so very often in 2016: over 20x wheels with pinion gearboxes rolled into the hearts of the test editors. In the trekkingrad magazine edition 01/ 2017 alone, we achieved 14 test wins.

LOOKING AHEADAlready a highlight announcement for 2017 and another milestone in our company history: Beginning in 2017, our Pinion transmission will be on display in the permanent exhibition of the “Deutsches Museum” in Munich, the most famous German technical museum. With these words, we wrap up a great 2016 and wish to express our thanks to you.Without you, enthusiastic customers and people who are open to new things, who believe in what we do and want to grow with us, we would not be where we are today. Together we can break away from the status quo; we´ll charge forward in 2017 at Pinion with the same enthusiasm. We would not be here without the support of all of you: fans and friends of Pinion!

We hope that you, your family, friends and colleagues can look back on a vibrant and successful year 2016. We wish you a wonderful Christmas, a relaxing holiday season and an enjoyable year-end!

Your Pinion team
