the morning of May 28th,attended by all representativesof the awarded firms and waspresided by Mr. Ricardo Roso,who briefly introduced theGlobal Trade Leaders’ Clubcreated with the aim ofencouraging trade relationsamong firms all around theworld, and invited the awardwinners to join the associationwhich has so much success in allcountries where the club hasbeen established. After thispresentation, which wasfollowed with great interest bythe audience, therepresentatives of the winningfirms were invited to give a briefintroduction mentioning theproducts they make or the

La sociétéModerne desAbattoirs (SMA)de Farcha (zone industrielle deN’djaména) est le principal outild’abattage qui permet d’approvisionneren viande saine et fraiche, N’djaménala capitale du Tchad et de nombreuxpays Africains dont la production enproduits carnés est déficitaire (Répu-blique Centrafricaine, Congo Démo-cratique, Congo Brazzaville, Gabon, Gui-née Equatoriale, Libye). Sa privatisationdepuis 1999 a donné un coup de souf-fle à cette entreprise qui s’appelait Abat-toirs Frigorifiques de Farcha. La capa-cité de production de la SMA est de 500bovins et de plus de 1000 petits rumi-nants pour une journée de travail de 8

heures. Soit 33.000 tonnes par an à raison de 110 tonnes par jour.La SMA dispose des installations modernes composées :- D’un parc d’attente d’animaux équipé d’abreuvoir. Il peut contenir jusqu’à 2000 têtes,- De quatre chaines d’abattage (2 pour le gros bétail et 2 pour les petits)- De 22 chambres froides et d’un entrepôt frigorifique à l’aéroport international de N’djaménapour l’exportation de ses produits. La capacité de cet entrepôt est de 70 tonnes.- De 3 camions isothermes de 10 tonnes pour la livraison des produits- D’un tunnel de congélation de – 20° C.
