John Adams

John Adams presidential term lasted from March 4,1798 through March 4, 1801, he was the 2nd president. During his term Adams completed a mission called The XYZ Affair. The XYZ Affair was an incident that involved 3 ministers that were sent to France to negotiate an agreement to protect U.S shipping. Adams also passed a group of laws known as the Alien and Sedition Acts. One law that was passed was that residency was raised to 14 years to become a United States citizen. Another law that was passed was that any false article printed, about the government will be illegal.
