The Marching Redskins are beginning their 24th season under the direction of Mr. Jeff Breitigam. Assisting with the band this year are Mike Procyk and Jason Garza (per-cussion), Kalene Holbrook (guard) and Beth Vaughn (visual).
The band has qualified for OMEA State Marching Band Finals 12 of the past 14 years, and will be looking to make their 5th straight SMBF appear-ance this fall.
The band’s first performance this year was at the Hancock County Fair, then at all 10 Arcadia HS Football games, and at OMEA Local Events. This year the OMEA events are at Cloverleaf High School, University of Akron, Revere High School, Maumee High School and Thomas Worthing-ton High School.
The band began music rehearsals in early July, then began 2 weeks of band camp on July 22 from 4-9 p.m.
They then had a couple rehearsals in August before school started on August 19. During the school year, the winds have a 7 a.m. rehearsal once per week, and the guard and percussion have an after-school rehearsal on their own as well. Thursday nights from 7-9 p.m. is rehearsal for the entire band to prepare for the football game and competition performances.
Band rehearsal also takes place from 11:50 a.m. to 12:50 p.m. during the school day.

The FTMB color guard and per-cussion rehearsed two days a week throughout June and July. The wood-winds and brass rehearsed twice in June and twice in July. The entire band had a two-week camp on the Findlay High School campus, which began on Aug. 5 and ended on Aug. 15 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
They rehearse during class time and after school hours on Mondays and Thursdays. The color guard and percussion also rehearse on Wednes-day evenings. Section leaders in the band will frequently have informal sectionals to assist with any trouble spots their colleagues may be having.
