The Oil and Gas Conservation Act

PARKMAN TILSTON-SOURIS VALLEY BEDS POOL - HORIZONTAL W ELL PROJECT

EXPANSION

MRO 173/92. The application submitted by Upton Resources Inc. to expand the horizontal well project in the Parkman Tilston-Souris Valley Beds Pool is approved pursuant to section 17.1 of The Oil and Gas Conservation Act. Permission is granted to construct the facilities and to drill and complete one well with a horizontal section in the Tilston-Souris Valley Beds underlying the north­west quarter of Section 34-8-33 WlM, in accord­ance with plans and specifications filed with Saskatchewan Energy and Mines as Document No. H.W. 10 and subject to the following provi­sions:

1 The horizontal well shall not be subject to the provisions of MRO 51/84 PO 6.

2 The maximum allowable rate of production for the horizontal well shall be determined accord­ing to the provisions of MRO 260/91.

M ARENGO SOUTH DETRITAL POOL -PRESSURE M AINTENANCE

MRO 174/92. Pursuant to section 17.1 of The Oil and Gas Conservation Act, the application sub­mitted by Grad & Walker Resources Ltd. for dis­posing of salt water recovered from oilfield production by injection into the Detrital through the well G & W Marengo A8-4-28-28 located in legal subdivision 8 of Section 4, in Township 28, in Range 28, West of the Third Meridian, is approved in accordance with plans and specifications filed with the Department as P.M. 828 and subject to the following conditions:

1 Installations shall be subject to the approval of a field representative of the Department prior to the commencement of salt water injection and subsequent to any modifications to such installa­tions.

2 The wellhead injection pressure shall be lim­ited to a maximum of 6 7 00 kilopascals.

3 All injection volumes shall be metered with a Department approved method.

This approval does not authorize the applicant to dispose of salt water without the consent of all the mineral owners, other than the Crown, that might reasonably be adversely affected by such disposal.

KISBEY FROBISHER-ALIDA BEDS POOL -HORIZONTAL W ELL PROJECT EXPANSION

MRO 17 5/92. The application submitted by Serenpet Inc. to expand the horizontal well pro­ject in the Kisbey Frobisher-Alida Beds Pool is approved pursuant to section 17.1 of The Oil and Gas Conservation Act. Permission is granted to construct the facilities and to drill and complete two wells with proposed horizontal sections in the Alida Beds underlying the south half of Section 7-8-5 W2M and the south-east quarter of Section 14-8-6 W 2M, in accordance with plans andspecifications filed with Saskatchewan Energyand Mines as Document No. H.W. 88 and subject to the following provision:

1 The horizontal wells shall be produced according to Good Production Practice.

FORGAN WEST VIKING SAND POOL

MRO 176/92 PO 20. Pursuant to section 17 of The Oil and Gas Conservation Act, the following provisions shall apply to the drilling of and the production of oil and gas from vertical oil wells in the Forgan West Viking Sand Pool effective July 1, 1992.

1 The drainage unit shall be comprised of one legal subdivision.

2 Within a drainage unit, the sides of the target area shall be located 100 m from and parallel to the corresponding sides of the drainage unit.

3 If a well is not completed within the target area, the minister may prescribe the area, less than the area of the drainage unit, to be used as a factor in determining the M ARP.

4 (a) For the first well drilled in each Section the operator shall submit samples of the inter­val from the top of the Second W hite Specks to total depth.

(b) For all subsequent wells drilled in each Section the operator shall submit samples of the interval from the top of the Viking formation to total depth if such wells are intended to be drilled down to or below the top of the Mannville Group. 5 As a minimum requirement, the operator

shall run a resistivity log and either a sonic log or an approved radioactivity log from total depth to surface casing shoe for each well di·illed.

MRO 177 /92 PB 16. Pursuant to section 17 of The Oil and Gas Conservation Act, it is ordered that effective July 1, 1992 the area comprising the following lands is designated and identified as the area of the oil pool named the "Forgan West Viking Sand Pool".
