• Future Goals• Questions
Problem
• Market (oral, tympanic, scanning)– Inaccurate & No Programmable Alarm– Difficulty of Continuously Monitoring
• Hospital equipment– Expensive– Mobility is Restricted– Hard to use
Solution• What is Revisimo?
– Digital wireless Thermometer
• Bandage• Wireless• Temperature
Sensing Device• Monitor
• Alarm• Temperature set
by the user
System Overview
Constraints
Technical Constraints
Battery Life Revisimo must have a minimum battery life of seven days.
Wireless The bandage and monitor must communicate with
each other within a 100-foot radius (indoors). Alarm System The alarm must be triggered if a user defined
temperature is reached. Also, the alarm must be audible from at least 30 feet away.
Temperature Precision
Revisimo must calculate the core body temperature within 0.5 °F. Revisimo must read temperatures within the range of 65 °F to 110 °F.
Visual Distance The display must present data to the user at a distance of up to 3 feet.
Manufacturability
• The bandage must fit on the temple and the monitor must be handheld.
Political
• Revisimo must abide by Federal Communications Commission regulations and allocations of the radio spectrum (9kHz to 3THz).
Battery Life
• Current Draw (Low Power Mode): 5.1 mA
• Current Draw (Active Mode): 35.6 mA
• 4ms transfer time
• mA-h= 855.01+.27= 855.28 mA-h
• A coin cell battery of 900 mA-h to 1000 mA-h will be sufficient.
Hardware Testing
Operating Range
Description Displacement Pass/Fail
Case 1 Same Floor (Line of Site) 163 Feet Pass
Case 2Same Floor, 1 Hall (Non Line of Site) 152 Feet Pass
Case 3Same Floor, 2 Halls (Non Line of Site) 59 Feet Pass
Case 4 1 Floor up (Non Line of Site) 164 Feet Pass
Case 5 1 Floor up, 1 Hall (Non Line of Site) 115 Feet Fail
Case 6 2 Floors Down (Non Line of Site) 44 Feet Pass
Case 7 3 Floors Down (Non Line of Site) 31 Feet Fail
Alarm Audibility
• The alarm was tested for audibility from thirty feet away.
• The alarm operates at 245 Hz and approximately 3Vpp
Display Readability
• The monitor was setup three feet away from the user.
• The test concluded that the LCD could lucidly be seen from three feet away.
