Estimados Colegas:

Este año nos reunimos en Montevideo, Uruguay para celebrar la Asamblea Anual, Conferencia y Exhibición de ACI-LAC con el tema “Construyendo competitividad aeroportuaria, en un mundo de cambios rápidos”. Este tema es el reflejo de lo que experimentamos como región ante el sostenido crecimiento en el sector aeroportuario.

La aviación en América Latina y el Caribe sigue creciendo a un mayor ritmo cada año, con la apertura de mercados creando oportunidades extraordinarias para los opMeradores aeroportuarios. Es por ello, que el desarrollo de proyectos de inversión demanda recursos, lo que se relaciona directamente con la importancia de los Estados en su rol como facilitador en el desarrollo del transporte aéreo.

Agradezco en nombre de ACI-LAC el esfuerzo que el Aeropuerto Internacional de Carrasco le ha dedicado a la organización de este evento.

This year we will gather in Montevideo, Uruguay to celebrate the Annual Meeting, Conference and Exhibition ACI- LAC with the theme “Building competitiveness airport, in a world of rapid change.” This theme is a reflection of what we experience as a region to the sustained growth in the airport sector.

Aviation in Latin America and the Caribbean continues to grow at a faster pace each year , with the opening of markets creating extraordinary opportunities for airport operators . This is why the development of investment projects demand resources, which is directly related to the importance of States in its role as facilitator in the development of air transport.

I thank you on behalf of ACI -LAC for the effort that Carrasco International Airport has devoted to the organization of this event.

Montevideo es un destino de referencia del Río de la Plata y Latinoamérica. Su población se aproxima al millón y medio de habitantes, casi la mitad de la población total del país, lo que la convierte en la ciudad uruguaya más grande.

La calidad de vida de los uruguayos se destaca en la región. Por su estabilidad política, social y macroeconómica, Uruguay está entre los países más seguros a nivel mundial. Según un reciente informe a cargo de la consultora internacional FutureBrand, Uruguay es la primera marca país en “Calidad de vida” de Latinoamérica e incluye primeros puestos en los atributos “Educación”, “Oportunidades laborales”, “Mejor lugar para vivir” y “Seguridad”.

A lo largo del año, Montevideo ofrece al visitante una variada y nutrida agenda cultural y de recreación, paisajes que cautivan junto a valores tan preciados como la calidez y hospitalidad de su gente.

La escala humana de la ciudad permite que en pocos minutos, el visitante puede salir de una sala de reuniones y disfrutar de un paseo por su rambla de más de 30 kilómetros, ir de compras, visitar museos, chacras y bodegas turísticas, o asistir a espectáculos culturales como de Tango y Candombe, expresiones declaradas Patrimonio Cultural de la Humanidad por la UNESCO en el 2009; entre otros.

Una manera ágil de conocer los principales atractivos de la capital, es a través del servicio de Bus Turístico; así como se recomienda la posibilidad de contratar City Tours con paseos específicos por la cuidad.

Montevideo ofrece una propuesta hotelera de primer nivel, que incluye a las principales cadenas internacionales. A su vez, su gastronomía se destaca tanto por su variada cocina internacional como por sus platos de identidad local en base a las prestigiosas carnes uruguayas acompañadas por el vino de la cepa insignia del país, el Tannat.

Además, desde Montevideo los visitantes pueden acceder a otros destinos turísticos del país ya que las distancias en Uruguay son muy cortas.
