School is over. Fun time!!At this stage of the school year, many of you are already
thinking that school is about to end and soon the summer
holidays will be here. After so much effort, we all feel like
having a rest and relaxing for a few months. No more having
to get up early every day, and we have the chance to break
away from the routine of having to go to school, doing
homework, exams etc.
We can be especially satisfied if we have met all our obligations
during the year. So, it’s time to enjoy ourselves, to have fun
with our family and friends. And although having a good
time is great, it’s also a good idea to make the most of our
free time. Don´t forget that the next school year will be
more difficult, so why not make up your mind to revise all
the subjects that you´ve found complicated this year, read
a book and in general absorb some culture. Seeing as in
summer there is time for everything, we´d like to give
you some good advice: take advantage of all the workshops
and activities on offer at this time of year – art, languages,
summer camps, excursions, sport. Make the most of each
situation to learn something new and improve your general
knowledge. In this way, as well as having a good time, you’ll
feel proud of yourself and you will find it useful in the future.

A aquestes alçades del curs escolar, molts de vosaltres ja esteu pensant en que l’escola està a punt d’acabar i que molt aviat arri-baran les vacances d’estiu. Desprès de tant esforç a tots ens ve molt de gust descansar una mica i poder relaxar-nos durant uns mesos. No haver de matinar cada dia, tren-car amb la rutina d’anar a l’escola, de fer els deures i els exàmens, etcètera; i més, si un mateix és conscient de que durant l’any ha complert amb les seves obligacions. Així, doncs, és hora de passar-ho bé, de divertir-se amb la família i amb els amics. Si és engrescador passar-s’ho bé , també és molt avantatjós per a tots aprofitar el temps. I una molt bona manera de fer-ho és no oblidant que el proper curs serà difí-cil i que no estarà gens malament repassar aquelles matèries que ens han semblat més complicades, llegir un llibre i culturitzar-nos una miqueta en general. I com a l’estiu hi ha temps per a tot, us volem donar un bon consell, aprofiteu la quantitat de tallers i activitats que s’ofereixen durant aquesta època de l’any: art, idiomes, colònies, ex-cursions, esports....aprofiteu qualsevol cir-cumstància per aprendre i millorar. Així, a més de divertir-te, et sentiràs orgullós de tu mateix i ben segur que et servirà pel futur.

NeixA Process of Transition (Bittersweet?)AdolescenceTo be able to understand this stage of life, it is essential to realise that it is basically a time of change. In general we can say that:
Children gradually become adults, and during this period of transformation they acquire some adult traits but nevertheless they do not completely lose all their childish characteristics. This period of evolution is undoubtedly difficult because at the same time they are forming their own identity and also trying to develop their personality. This makes them much more vulnerable to pressure from their surroundings, and this means that both the parents and the teenagers may sometimes feel overwhelmed.
This is why it is important to understand this process and its characteristics. We must bear in mind that it is a time in which there is a mixture of very different sensations and feelings, like personal insecurity, the need to find and assert themselves, the establishment of values and convictions which will allow them to develop throughout their lives. As a result of physical, mental and sensitive changes, they instinctively discover new tendencies. However, they do not yet have enough mental capacity and they are not mature enough to deal with these new sensations.
In their eagerness to create their own world during this time of searching for their own identity and trying to develop their own personality, teenagers tend to reject any sign of the values which they have been taught in their childhood. At the same time, this desire to create their own world gives them a feeling of insecurity and uncertainty. They are faced with a future full of questions and they want to answer them for themselves.In their desire to assert themselves, they show a rebellious and critical attitude in almost any situation. They look for new friends, experiences, sensations etc. It is just at this time when their future character and personality are being formed, as well as their scale of values. There is the exception, of course, of those who later have an experience which makes a great impression on them.
Nowadays it is difficult to understand the teenage world without taking into account the importance of new technologies and the media. Their huge influence competes with that of friends, family, school and general surroundings, when deciding what is important and what is not. If they are used in an intelligent way, they can be fun, educational and may even help to widen perspectives. The problem is when teenagers often can´t tell the difference between what is good and what is bad for their development as adults.
They are not always aware of the fine line dividing reality and fiction, the purpose of deceptive publicity, or the risks taken when they communicate with strangers in chat rooms.
With our daily behaviour, we can try to show them that there are other, more gratifying options, both for them and for us, because this is always reciprocal.

The Black Eyed Peas On 3rd July the American group The Black Eyed Peas are holding a concert in Barcelona, in the RCD Espanyol football stadium in Cornellà- El Prat. It’s the only concert they are giving in Spain!Before becoming world famous, the Black Eyed Peas published two studio albums -Behind the Front (1998) and Bridging the Gap (2000).Although they didn’t have much success with the general public, they were well received by the critics. They really became famous when Fergie (the last of the four members) joined the group in 2003 and they made their most successful album so far (Elephunk), which put them on the map. Later, the album Monkey Business (2005) would be even more successful, selling more than 10 million copies. In 2009 they launched their 5th studio record The E.N.D. (The Energy Never Dies), and this year they’ve brought out the 2nd part. In all they’ve published 6 studio records, one of remixes, and 23 singles. They’ve made 22 musical videos and they’ve taken part in 28 soundtracks. So far Black Eyed Peas have sold more than 25 million albums and more than 35 million singles all over the world. They have won a Grammy six times and they are one of the 11 artist who have reached number 1 and number 2 in the Billboard Hot 100 at the same time.On December 11th, 2009 Black Eyed Peas won two of the prizes awarded by “40 Principales”.
