VALUE & SUPPORT – RECREATION FACILITY
Shared Space Partnership with River Forest Entities I support the Park District reconsidering it’s 2015 proposal
(available to view at rfparks.com) for the construction of a gymnasium, indoor walking track, and large program room as an addition to The Depot in Keystone Park. The estimated facility cost of $6.4 million would be financed through the use of the Park District’s Capital Fund, non-referendum bonds, and grants. The Park District would own and have priority use of the space.
RFPD Recreation Facility
I support the Park District contributing an estimated $2.5 million out of the Park District’s Capital Fund toward a partnership with the Village, the Township, and the River ForestCommunity Center to develop a new recreation center within the village boundaries at an estimated cost of $25 million. Use of the facility would be based on a space sharing agreement.
West Cook YMCA PartnershipI support the Park District contributing an estimated $2.5 million to the West Cook YMCA to develop a nearby recreation facility, likely outside the Village, and giving the Park District first-tier priority access and space control through a space sharing agreement.
I support the development of an off leash dog park or dog run in either Constitution Park, Keystone Park, or Washington Triangle at an estimated cost of $25,000.

VALUE & SUPPORT – OUTDOOR AMENITIES
I support the addition of canvas sail shade structures over one or more of the five Park District playgrounds in Constitution Park, Keystone Park, Priory Park and Washington Commons at an estimated cost of up to $50,000 per playground.
Playground Shade StructuresI support the Park District spending an estimated $50,000 for a feasibility study to close Keystone Avenue between both Key-stone Parks (Lake Street to Central Avenue) for development of a continuous park with amenities.
Platform TennisI support the construction of a 5th and 6th platform tennis court and the construction of a paddle hut in Keystone Park at an estimated cost of $1.5 million. This project would be budgeted to be repaid back to the Park District in 20 years through platform tennis memberships and user fees with no net expense to the taxpayers.
