RHS First Aid Seniors recently completed their

First Aid & CPR classes with Ms.

Ross, Ms. Schmidt, Mr. Giannanto-

nio & Mr. Kay. Valuable skills are

taught in the class including how to

perform compression's, breaths

using an AED on a person who may

be suffering from a heart attack or cardiac arrest, bandaging an open wound/

making a makeshift tourniquet, splinting a broken bone and using an epi-pen on a

person who is showing signs of anaphylaxis from an allergic reaction.

A total of 119 students this quarter decided to receive a 2 year certification

through the American Heart Association thanks to Hackensack University Medical

Center. We have seen how useful this certification is for students who require it

for employment in the short term and moving forward into college.

The RHS Class of 2020 celebrated the halfway point

of their RHS careers with a semi-formal hosted at the

Palisadium in Cliffside Park on January 20. The event

was well-attended by a class that shows tremendous

school spirit!
