Ricky B Transport & Plant Hire (PTY) Ltd
Is a trucking and plant hire company founded in 1997, with the intention of offering comprehensive and professional quality services in trucking and plant hire, relative to all aspects of general industry, and also providing to the public sector when necessary.
With over 42 years of joint experience in the transport, civil, construction, mining and plant hire industry, Ricky B consistently delivers a high level of excellence, in both service and equipment, professionally and effectively.

Core Functions
COAL HANDLING:Ricky B currently have contracts with the main mining houses, the operations involve:
- Loading of Coal, using Front End Loaders.- Stockpiling of Coal by means of Excavators, Dozers, Front End Load ers, Dumper Trucks.- Clean up and transportation by means of Bobcats, Front End Loaders and Tipper trucks.
SCREENING AND BLENDING OF COAL AND TAR MIX:- On certain sites, Ricky B is required to blend different grades by sizing of various types of coal, which we achieve by means of tracking screen ing plants, excavators, loaders, we are currently doing in the area of about 1,500,000 tons annually.- Ricky B also does coal and tar blending to certain rations, which is either loaded back or transported to the stockpile. - We are currently handling 600,000 tons annually.
COAL RECLAMATION:- Reclamation of coal is one of our specialities and we believe ourselves to be one of the pioneers in this field, both on slurry ponds and coal dumps.- We have in the last 10 years recovered over 10,000,000 tons.
COAL TRANSPORTATION- Coal Transportation forms a large part of our operation to and from various clients in the Highveld region but not limited thereto.- We currently transport 3,500,000 tons annually.

ASH HANDLING – COAL TRANSPORTATION- Ash handling is a very critical part of our operation whereby we control emergency bypass dams.- This involves agitating fine ash through slurry pumps and removing the coarse ash for disposal at dumpsites.- The cleaning of thickener’s is also part of this operation.- Equipment used: Excavators, Front End Loaders, Dump Trucks, Tipper Trucks, Bobcats, TLB’s and Long Boom Excavators.
CIVIL WORK:- Building of new roads (from base level to asphalt)- Road markings- Kerbing and Traffic Circles- Paving and Asphalt- Building of bypass dams for Sasol and the mines- Building of a shopping centre- Steel Structures & Commercial buildings- Civil Maintenance- Earth Moving & Installations- Concrete basis and large foundations Basis & Plinths Floors and Large Foundations Structures Walls and boundary walls-Excavations-Demolition-Reinforce concrete work-Building-Back Filling-Repair and maintenance of roads-Dredging

In the past two years, we have recently purchased 3 x AmphibiousExcavators.
Our 30 ton excavator, being one of the largest in South Africa. Wehave found it extremely helpful in cleaning and deepening of dams.
We are currently busy with 3 projects, where we have created extracapacity in the dams.
As part of the excavators, we have dredging pumps attached, which assists in dredging out all the slurry in the dams.

Ricky B values the lives of our employees and their families, thus making safety a priority in our day to day operations. Thus we will pro-actively manage the SHE risk on all projects and site / SHE system and ensure that all employees have sufficient training or experience to perform their job function and appointments.
As Management we Endeavour to:- Set-specific targets and objectives to improve our SHE standards.- Comply with all relevant legislation including all associated regulations and by-laws and to exceed any requirements contained thereon where possible.- Live up to the requirements set by our clients.- Provide a healthy and safe environment for all workers.- Develop an effective management plan to cover all SHE activities.- Train all employees in the safe working, acting and responsible manner at all times.- Promote good relationships with, and enhance capacities of the local communities of which we are a part.- Conserve the environment and its resources for future generations to come.

- Wear their correct provided PPE at all times.- Perform all work in a safe manner.- Prevent injuries, losses and pollution to their best ability.- Report all injuries, losses and any unsafe acts and pollution immediately.- Be happy and healthy holistically and support our community up-liftment project.
Our entire Management Team is Committed to the Implementa-tion and Continued Driving of our SHE Policy.
Our Objectives and Targets Are:
- Continuously strive for a zero incidents or injuries by applying special attention to on job training.- Continuously improve upon both formal and informal training to create awareness and job efficiency.- Implement effective measures to aid in the prevention of environmental pollution.- Formulate action plans to correct deviations regarding all SHE aspects within a reasonable time frame.
