Shirts/tops that are revealing, low cut, show midriff, or are backless are unacceptable (even if worn under an open shirt, sweater, jacket)

Torn Pants / Holes

Any pants/shorts/skirts with holes, tears, shreds above the knee ARE NOT PERMITTED. The picture on the right is unacceptable attire.

Other UnacceptableUnacceptable Apparel: Costumes, loungewear, pajamas or slippers. Stretch lycra, spandex or nylon tights,

leotards, biker pants or underwear worn as outer garments.

Head wear (except for religious reasons) to include, but not limited to, hats, hoods, wave-caps, sweatbands, bandannas, do-rags, skull caps, surgical caps, ear muffs, scarves, baseball caps, picks, rakes, and combs.

Any article of clothing which displays obscene words, pictures or designs, any article which conveys a sexually suggestive, vulgar, demeaning or inflammatory remark, an alcohol related message, a tobacco and /or drug related message, or is symbolic of gangs or disruptive groups.

Dog collars, chains, wallet chains, safety pins, spike jewelry, or fishhooks worn as jewelry, accessories or ornamentation.

Shoes MUST be worn at all times. Athletic shoes MUST be worn for physical education classes, and closed toed shoes are also required on lab days in science, technology, and family and consumer science classes.

ITEMS NOT SPECIFICALLY COVERED IN THE ABOVE POLICY CAN BE PROHIBITED AT THE DISCRETION OF THE ADMINISTRATION.

Consequences:

Students who violate provisions of the dress code will not be allowed to attend class and will be given the opportunity to have a parent/guardian bring appropriate clothing to school.

Continued violations of the dress code will subject the student to disciplinary action.
