The development of Scope marks a new milestone in the history

of Riege Software International (Riege). The family business,

based in Meerbusch near Düsseldorf, is a leading provider of

smart software solutions for freight and logistics.

With around 80 employees, over 300 international customers

has made a name for itself as an experienced partner for freight

After founding his company in 1985, Johannes Riege provided

the answer to all logistics issues concerning air and sea freight

as well as customs with his complex Procars (Professional Carri-

age System) application, setting a standard for the industry. High

ted to any format and sent as an email to parties involved.

When it comes to the execution and management of international

shipments, air and sea freight forwarders often have to deal with

time-consuming paperwork, various systems and waiting periods.

The problem: data and service requirements often vary, depen-

ding on the country, contracting party and goods. This calls for

consistent documentation that makes the procedure transparent

to all parties involved. Scope closes this gap. Riege’s intelligent

system manages, organises and structures customer orders and

data in a central electronic file.

And there’s more – Scope documents the entire international

transport procedure: 1. Registration of key data. 2. Pre-carriage

(collection of goods from sender, provision of goods to forwarding

air or sea carrier). 3. Main carriage (preparation of necessary

transportation documents). 4. On-carriage (delivery of goods

to recipient).

A great team: Scope and Customs!Exporting and importing companies appreciate the assistance of Riege’s quick and reliable software for completing customs formalities.

Customs formalities are as extensive as they are complex.

There are plenty of important points to deal with: import and

export requirements and regulations, goods, classification

and valuation, declarations, customs duty, inspection and

communications. In short: a wealth of information and data

needs to be checked, collected and kept readily available

around the clock. This mainly costs freight forwarders one

precious thing: time.

All parties involved in import and export can save valuable time by working with Scope Customs.

Riege’s customs-certified logistics software ensures a smooth and fast procedure.

At a glance:

Scope bundles all relevant information (including PDF files)

that needs to be exchanged with customs in all export and import

operations in one procedure. This exchange is carried out digital-

ly – time-consuming paper documentation becomes obsolete.

In the event that information and documents are required on

paper, they can be printed from Scope anytime.

Checking status in Scope offers a view of procedures,

whether still in progress or accurately completed. If problems

occur in the course of a process, these are registered and

organised accordingly.

If customs duty is levied in the import process, Scope auto-

matically creates a corresponding invoice in the system. This is –

again automatically – forwarded to the accounting department.

Worldwide, most customs systems are similar. Therefore,

Scope works with an interface that is identical for all systems –

regardless of what data or terms are filled in.

If a customer also uses Scope Forwarding, accompanying

customs procedures are directly accessible from the shipment.

Tasks can be opened and managed directly from the

shipment. This includes attached PDF files.

Incoming tax assessments are automatically filed as

invoices in conjunction with the respective shipment.

At the touch of a button these costs can be charged to

customers in the corresponding final invoice.

Creating and managing documents is simple with Scope.

All documents related to a business transaction are directly

accessible. Facilitating the PDF format, documents can be

conveniently exchanged electronically with partners and printed

on standard printers. Additional password protection of every

document allows for a maximum of data integrity. If a document

is created multiple times, all previous versions are retained and

changes between versions can be traced. External documents in

various formats can also be uploaded to Scope for further

processing.

seamless integration of email, Scope enables the user to store

transaction. A direct link to Scope’s document management

Scope Cost Control provides a detailed break-down of income

and expenses for each transaction. Automatically generated

records store the cost summary and trigger an immediate alarm

if suppliers’ bills show any deviations. There is a credit limit

It also features a function enabling you to present your monthly

financial statements supported by reliable benchmarking
