> The latest from everyone‘s favourite cow > With charming peepholes on each double- page spread

A fun peek-a-boo book for explorers young and old

Fabulous hide-and-seek fun with many fold-out pages > Lieselotte: the star in every nursery > Hide-and-seek fun for the very young

There’s something hidden behind every fold-out page! And it isn’t always what Lieselotte thinks it is, either. She’s playing hide-and-seek with her friends on the farm, and it’s her turn to seek. Who is that hiding behind the hen house? Is it the chickens? No, lifting the flap reveals the goat. And there, behind the pile of firewood, isn’t that the pig’s curly tail? Wrong again: it’s the pony! There’s a surprise hidden behind each flap, making this game of hide-and-seek with Lieselotte fun for even the youngest child.

You can discover a lot by looking through doors and windows. But is it always what you think you’re seeing at first glance? Take the kitchen window: what’s that? Has the farmer baked a cake? Lieselotte investigates: too bad, it’s just a pile of ironing. Through the windows in the pages, Lieselotte keeps discovering things which transform into something completely different when you turn the page. Perfect Lieselotte fun for the very young and anyone who wants to discover and re-discover every day objects!

our immensely popu- lar picture book series More than 410.000 sold copies!

Children do not like to leave their familiar environment, their much loved habits and most of all their friends in kindergarten. They are afraid of the new and unknown and look forward to moving with mixed feelings. That’s why it is good when they experience that the new home does not feel that bad after all. Clara does not want to go away. She wants to stay in her old room where at night the moon looks so friendly into her window. But then every-thing has been packed up and Clara has to say goodbye. And when she looks out the window in her new room an old friend blinks at her. Now things are not that bad anymore. In a loving and sensitive way this story encourages all children who are afraid of changes.

Anton is not always a good boy. Every time when Mum is angry with him, she says: “Anton, if you are a bad boy, the bogeyman will come and get you!” Anton often imagines what he looks like. One day, the bogeyman actually arrives …

The little sheep looks just like all the other sheep. Except for one small detail: Its left ear is yellow like a lemon. That’s the reason why the other sheep call it “cheese ear” or “lemon ear” and snatch the best leaves of grass from it! Naturally, only the yellow ear is to blame for that. And the little sheep is very sad about that. Until the old, wise ram gives it a clever piece of advice… A clever picture book about boosting children’s confidence!

A big box is standing in front of the sleeping bear’s cave. What could probably be in it and who has put it there anyway? The great guessing game begins. When the animals can hardly bear the curiosity any longer, the bear finally wakes up. And he is happy because he has already been waiting for the box to come. Will he reveal the secret?

Flotsam or jetsam or … something more sinister? Hard to believe what happens when there is a crate sitting on the beach one morning. What is in the big crate? Or who? Or is it empty? One after the other, four friends come across this crate at the beach, have their own ideas, thoughts and fears about it. One after the other, they climb into the crate and hide – but now they cannot see any more what’s going on on the outside …

Josef Quadflieg (text) Ivan Gantschev (illustrations) Francis of Assisi(978-3-7373-5076-1) Hardcover, 40 pp., 17.2 × 22.3 cm Ages 4 +

Who was Francis of Assisi > Evocative pictures > Contains St. Francis’ well-known “Canticle of the Sun” > The saint whose name was selected as papal name by the current Pope

At a young age, Francis of Assisi decided to devote himself to a life with God. Although he was often mocked and even considered mad, Francis held fast to his ideals and gradually convinced more and more people by his way of life. In the end, he and and several followers founded an order whose members are even today dedicated to caring for the poor and sick.

This beautifully illustrated picture book tells Francis‘ story in language children can understand.

Even today, St. Francis is synonymous with humility and charity toward the sick and impoverished, and it is in this spirit that the current Pope chose “Francis” as his papal name.

Ivan Gantschev was born in Bulgaria in 1925 and studied at Sofia’s Academy of Arts. He has illustrated many picture books for children and grown-ups alike and, in 1985, was awarded the Gold Plaque at the Biennial of Illustration Bratislava.

Josef Quadflieg, born in Herzogenrath in 1924, directed the Cate-chetical Institute in Trier for many years. He has published nu-merous successful edu-cational books about religion. His books have been translated into ten languages.

In this third instalment of the Ricki-and-Rosa series, Dagmar Chidolue once again shows off her gifts for brilliant observation and masterful story-telling. There’s never a dull moment for Ricki and Rosa, either: their school is planning a play! Ricki and Rosa can’t wait. Ricki‘s teacher suggests that they perform “Noah’s Ark”, so that everyone can have a part. They even get to write the script themselves! And that, it turns out, isn’t as easy as it looks. Which is why everything seems to go wrong – but all’s well that ends well.

It’s hard to get a word in edge-wise when Emilia the Elf starts talking about her beloved home country of Iceland: she explains all about fiery mountains, an underground toot machine, criss-cross winds and round-about gusts, and 13 Father Christmases! Pippa is sure that Emilia is telling tall tales again. But when her entire family, including Grandma Dotty, decides to vacation in Iceland over the Easter holidays, Pippa is worried: will her little elfish best friend want to come back home with her? Pippa and Emilia’s third adventure – filled with even more wordplay, humour, and surprises.

My Very First Fairy Tale Picture Book > A unique concept in story-telling > Complete text of the fairy-tale included for reference

Turbulent, adventurous, and wildly imaginative!

Ricki and Rosa Rock out!

Telling the fairy-tale of the well-known cat becomes child‘s play when we follow illustrator Nina Dulleck as she guides us through the story. The familiar, beloved tale comes back to life in her pictures, and the story practically tells itself! But the large number of pictures allows kids to read the book on their own, as well. Sim-ple and colourful: for admiring, re-telling, and discovering. The world‘s best story-tellers take the stage – and with these books, that means any and all parents, grandparents, uncles and aunts!

Fairy tales boost courage and confidence, foster empathy and language competence. For small children this works best when fairy tales are not only read aloud but told to them. With the series ›Fairy Tale Picture Books for Small Children‹ the telling of fairy tales is made easy as they function like a picture story. Illustrator Barbara Korthues takes us through the story of Slee-ping Beauty picture by picture so that by only looking at the pictures the story comes alive – and it is guaranteed that no part of the action will be forgotten. So both little and big fans of fairy tales can discover and tell their very own story.

For boys who love comic books

For fans of wild stories and odd humor!

> Charming, off-beat, and down-right hilarious! > For fans of Diary of a wimpy kid

Jonas needs money – badly. He can’t ask his parents (they’re just as broke as he is), and there are hardly any jobs he could do on the side. Well, there is one: Hell is looking for someone to sweep up the ash. And yes, that is exactly as miserable as it sounds. Nor are his colleagues the brightest of the bunch.

With fine pen-work, plenty of imaginati-on, and sparkling wit, Patrick Wirbeleit draws and tells the story of what Jonas has to go through in Hell, how he has to run after an escaped demon on Earth, and what God, a talking pile of ash, and a chicken have to do with it all.

Kalle has already seen 136 orphanages from the inside, as he is not looking for a new home but for his big brother. In or-phanage number 137, “Backwater of Good Hope”, Kalle believes he will finally find some trace of him. First of all, though, he finds a sinister count who wants to level all of the small town to put up a giant wellness center. And he finds three children who might become his friends. But first Kalle has to help them save their home. Kai Lüftner does not only sparkle and steam with ideas, he invents the most ludicrous children book figures and sets them upon each other in a turbulent story about friendship and solidarity.

Kai Lüftner, born 1975 in Berlin, studied social pedagogics, worked amongst other things as street worker, cabaret artist and solo entertainer, pizza delivery man, door man, copy writer for advertisements, song texts and on special contract, comedy au-thor, concert promoter, composer and musician, radio journalist and also in old people’s and children’s homes.

Today he earns his money as arranger of audio books and direc-tor, as copy writer for comedians and actors, as author of books for children and young adults. Together with his wife he runs a café in Berlin.

Perfect summer reading with Italian flair > A summer love story full of entanglements and emotional depth! > Evocative, romantic, and funny > one Day on the Venice Lido

Leo, a hopeless romantic, invites his crush, Leah, on a camping trip to Italy in the hopes of winning her heart there. Perhaps not the best choice of desti-nations: the small camp site and the availability of gorgeous Italians lead to an unfortunate number of complications.

But despite the fact that (on top of everything else, and of course only grudgingly) Leo is also dragging along his old aunt, little sister, and the dog, the short trip becomes a journey on which Leo discovers his true feelings – and the unexpected starring role a young Italian woman plays in them …

Annette Roeder, born 1968, studied architecture before starting to illus-trate children‘s books and finally to write books for children and young adults herself. Today she lives in Munich with her three children, her dog, and a geriatric duck.

As a witness to Hitler’s regime she tells without lecturing. These are very personal, honest observations and stories which have been engraved on her mind.

Silber – the new fantastic trilogy by Kerstin Gier > Part I of a three part series of books for Young Adults! > Has been on the bestseller list since first publication in June 2013! > A true Kerstin Gier novel: Full of suspense, moving and incredibly funny!

Mysterious doors with lizard knobs, spea-king stone figures and a nanny running wild with an axe … recently Liv Silber’s dreams are rather scary. Especially one of them bothers her very much.

In this dream she has been at a graveyard at night and has observed four boys du-ring an eerie magic ritual. But the boys at least represent a real connection to Liv’s life for Grayson and his three best friends really exist. Recently Liv has started attending the same school as the four of them. Actually they are quite likeable. Really uncanny, though, much more un-canny than any graveyard at night is that the boys know things about her which she has never given away during daytime – only in her dream …

Can that be real? How they manage to do that is a mystery to her, but Liv has never been able to resist a good riddle …

Kerstin Gier, born in 1966, published her first book as a more or less unemployed postgraduate pedagogue. With huge success: Her novels for adults such as “Müttermafia” (Mother Mafia) or “Auf der anderen Seite ist das Gras viel grüner” (On the Other Side the Grass is Much Greener) have reached cult status and can be found on all top ranking lists just as her books for young adults “Rubinrot” (Ruby Read), “Saphirblau” (Sapphire Blue) and “Smaraggrün” (Emerald Green), which have become internatio-nal bestsellers as well. “Silber – Das erste Buch der Träume” (Sil-ber – The First Book of Dreams) is the launch of her new series of books for young adults. The author lives with her family and two cats in the vicinity of Cologne.
