The following is important when applying ring nuts and eye bolts:

f Carefully select a ring nut or eye bolt with the correct Working Load Limit (WLL) in combination with its application;

f Before use, check for damage (corrosion, deformation);

f The thread needs to be clean and free of any damage;

f Never (re-)use any deformed ring nuts and eyebolts;

f Never grind or cut into an ring nut or eyebolt;

f Avoid colour marking (particularly red) to prevent confusion with high quality lifting requirements;

f Stainless steel ring nuts and eye bolts are NOT suitable for lifting purposes;

f Eye bolts and ring nuts are affected by wear, weather conditions, overload, etc. Regular inspection according to the safety standards applicable in the country where they are used, must take place at least every 6 months and even more frequently when the products are used in severe operating circumstances!

USER INFORMATION

Eye bolts and ring nuts are made from C15 steel, forged and with metric thread. Standard available as galvanized and self coloured. Hot dip galvanized versions are available upon request.

The products are stamped with:

f WLL (Working Load Limit);

f Material identification: C15;

f Dimensions of the metric thread;

f Manufacturer’s symbol;

f

All of these markings are legible.

IDENTIFICATION

IMPORTANT!

Stainless steel eye bolts and ring nuts are not suitable for lifting purposes. Always make sure that the com-bination of working load limit and the intended application is safe.

Steel-forged DIN 580 ring screws and DIN 582 ring nuts are used amongst other purposes for lifting ma-chinery, equipment or other objects that cannot be lifted by hand or with a forklift. The maximum working load limit must always be adhered to.

APPLICATION AND WORKING LOAD

SAFETY

The Working Load Limit (WLL) is essential for the safe application of ring nuts and ring screws and may never be exceeded.

A safety factor value of 6 ap-plies to the specified WLL.

IMPORTANT!

Lateral loading of these ring nuts and ring screws is not permitted!

Working Load Limit (WLL) & Minimum Breaking Load (MBL)The WLL indicates the maximum working load for a ring nut or a ring screw. During lifting and lifting, environmental factors are to be considered when determining the correct working load. A safety factor of 6 is indicated in the standard. The MBL can be calculated by multiplying the WLL by the safety factor. However, the indicated WLL is never to be exceeded.

The indicated WLL only applies when:

f the ring nut is fully screwed on;

f the eye bolt is fully screwed in;

f the ring nut/eye bolt is in full contact with the surface;

f the length of thread onto which the ring nut/eye bolt is screwed is long enough.
