Rippleside Elementary Newsletter December 2020 Dear Parents/Guardians: I want to thank you for your patience during our learning model transition that was implemented on Monday, November 23 rd . We want your student to succeed in their school work with as little frustration as possible, so please do not hesitate to reach out with any questions you may have. We are very excited to still be holding our Scholastic Book Fair again this year. Online shopping is once again an option and is very easily accessible through links that weve posted on our Rippleside web page and our Rippleside Facebook page. While we are still able to participate in some of our annual school events, we unfortunately cannot hold all of them. Our K-3 Christmas Concert will not be held this year as we cannot accommodate all of our students along with their families in the auditorium and still maintain proper recommended distancing. More details regarding the concert are enclosed in this newsletter. We have a short month ahead of us before we begin our winter break, so it is crucial that students work very hard to stay caught up in their work so they can enjoy their time away from school. I hope you enjoy your winter break and remain safe. We Are ISD#1. Sincerely, Andrew G. Specialist Canvas Instructions

With the increase in remote learners and change in learning models, our Phy. Ed., Art, STEM, Music and Library specialists have a new Canvas plan for grades K-6.

All specialists will post lessons for a one-week time frame on Specialist Day 1. Assignments are due by the end of the day on Day 5. **Day 1 may not always be on the same day of the week depending on days off from school. Please check Rippleside’s web page www.isd1.org, view the monthly lunch menu in the newsletter or read our morning announcements, which are emailed to all students each morning to keep up to date on which Day we are on.

If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to the individual specialist teacher.

Every December we look forward to our K-3 Christmas Concert held in the Aitkin High School Auditorium. Unfortunately, this year we are very sorry to report that we will not be able to hold our annual concert. We would not be able to maintain a safe distance between all of our students on stage and family members in the audience, and safety is of our utmost importance this year.

Students will still be participating in festive holiday activities during their scheduled specialist music time each week. If the time or situation comes up that we are able to host a Christmas concert, we will send information home to all of our families.

Fall Conference Attendance

Thank you to all of the families that participated in our virtual fall conference day. We had a great participation percentage of 90% attendance. We were very pleased to see the attendance rate so high with it having been our first time participating in virtual conferences.

If you missed your conference time, please contact your child’s teacher to try and set up a time to connect with them.
