JJ] BRENTWOOD MIDDLE SCHOOL “Speak”
We always say our kids speak a different language at times. Sometimes, even our own middle school administration
does! So as you prepare to be a well-informed middle school parent, please take a moment to familiarize yourself with
some of the commonly used terms around Brentwood Middle.
1: 1 Chromebook
Each of our students will be assigned a Chromebook for the school year once parents and students have completed all
their registration forms. Students will take their Chromebooks to and from school to complete their schoolwork. We will
have a WCS technician at school to provide technical support during school hours. Students are expected to have the
computer completely charged daily and use it appropriately for academic purposes only. The Chromebook will
automatically use the WCS filters and firewalls when working on and off the BMS campus.
Agendas
Agendas are given out to students the first day of school and serve as student planners. Students are expected to record
daily assignments in their agendas. Parents should be sure to check this document for the Code of Conduct, demerit
system, school attendance policies, and the dress code. Agendas are to be with students at all times throughout the school
day.
A.I. D. (Academic Intervention Detention)
A.I.D., or Academic Intervention Detention, is a program that we have implemented at BMS to serve as a tool to help
students remain accountable for their work while also providing them an opportunity for a second chance at completing
work that may otherwise go missing. A.I.D. happens one day a week after school, and a student may be assigned to A.I.D.
if they match one of two criterions, either missing two or more assignments in one class, or failing a class due to missing
work. The student will be notified by their teacher and the parents of that student will be notified by the school.
Focus
Focus is a dedicated study time set aside in the school day when students can work on their homework and receive help
from their teachers. That is offered in sixth, seventh, and to most eighth-grade students who are not taking a fifth
academic class. During this time, teachers will meet with students to provide extra help to students who need an extra
boost according in reading comprehension or mathematics according to STAR math and reading assessment screenings.

The Williamson Warriors Middle School Rugby team is a
community of unique individuals who dare to try something

any and every size and shape. Successful rugby does
require fitness, but first and foremost, it requires that special
person who is ready, willing and able to give it a go. No
tryouts, every player is welcome. Season begins in late
February and ends in late April. For more information visit

BOYS AND GIRLS ROWING The boys and girls rowing programs are for athletes
between the ages of 11 and 19 years. The goal of the
Development Program (5th to 8th graders) is to create the
foundation of comfort in a rowing shell for young athletes
while also teaching them valuable lessons about team-work,
independence, and confidence. They will row with students
from BHS as well as other middle schools from around the
greater Nashville area. The rowing motion is a great
dynamic movement that helps foster the development of
coordination, strength, and flexibility that can lead to great
competitive success at the High School level and beyond!
We also offer several weeks of Learn-to-Row Camps
throughout the summer, which can be a great step into the
world of rowing before next Fall. Visit the website
(www.nashvillerowing.org) if you have any questions!
FINAL
Williamson County School Board policy requires students to have a current athletic physical on
file in order to participate in any extracurricular activity involving athletics.
All WCS athletic physical forms are now available through the FinalForms online dashboard
( https://wcs-tn.finalforms.com/ ) enabling parents and students to complete required athletic
forms electronically. The only form families will be required to print, sign and return is the
physical form. This form is only available through the FinalForms dashboard, must be
printed, completed and signed by a physician. The form should then be submitted to the
child’s/children’s athletic director or coach in order to be eligible to participate in athletics.
WCS athletic departments will not accept paper copies of any other athletic forms or packets. All
required forms must be completed online to be eligible for tryouts and participate in athletic
programs or activities. Parents will automatically be notified when the child’s forms and physical
need to be updated.
For parents and students returning to Williamson County Schools, your student’s FinalForms
password is the same password they use to log in to their computers at school. If there is trouble
signing in, they can click “Forgot Password” below the log in. A link will be sent to the student’s
gmail account to reset it. Parents and students will have to electronically sign their forms
separate for their forms to be complete.
For parents and students new to Williamson County Schools who have not been provided access
to the FinalForms dashboard or given their gmail passwords, please contact athletic directors,
Ben Hahs or Dennis Harrison for assistance. Their contact information can be found on the
school’s Faculty & Staff and/or Athletics website pages.
Each physical is good for one calendar year. Our suggestion is to have your child’s physical
completed by a physician during the summer months. Once completed, the physical form can be
handed into the front office of Brentwood Middle School during summer hours or when school is
in session.
We thank you for your continued support of Brentwood Middle School Athletics! Go Vikings!
Sincerely,
Brentwood Middle School Athletics Administration
