The Comprehensive School Improvement Plan (CSIP) is designed to prepare every child for success in school and life. CSIP is the district’s accountability tool used for reviewing and assessing the districts impact on student learning and structural processes in Riverview Gardens School District.

Annual Performance Reports (APR) are generated for every public school, District and charter local agency each year. The APRs are used to determine appropriate supports and interventions needed at the school and District level.

Executive Summary• The Riverview Gardens School District Comprehensive School Improvement Plan (CSIP) for 2012 - 2017

was approved by the Special Administrative Board in June 2012.

• The plan undergoes an annual review process to ensure that it remains current and focused on the educational mission of the district. In September 2014, the district was directed by the Regional State Intervention Team to begin using a new Comprehensive School Improvement Plan (CSIP) template.

• The revised template now includes four Core Elements: Leadership, Collaborative Cultures, Curriculum and Assessment, and Effective Instruction.

• As with the District’s previous plan, the revised plan will continue to be led by the following Management Oversight Team (MOT) consisting of the following administrators and their respective teams:

• Effective Instruction – Stacey Nichols, Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Barbara Sharp, Professional Development Coordinator

• Leadership – Michael Triplett, Assistant Superintendent of Leadership and Accountability • Collaborative Cultures – Tanya Patton, Assistant Superintendent of Student Services • Curriculum & Assessment – Phillip Kennedy, Executive Director of Data and Assessment and

Tonya Ross, Curriculum Coordinator • Technology - Jesolyn Larry, Director of Technology

Page 5: RIVERVIEW GARDENS SCHOOL DISTRICT Comprehensive School ...

• The report includes the various goals, strategies and action steps that have been developed and implemented for each strand.

• In this report, the goals are rated by a status report of completed, progressing, not yet completed in order to identify the status of implementation.

• In addition, a status update for strengths, outcomes, and barriers are provided for stakeholders.

• The Riverview Gardens CSIP status report is prepared three times a year and is posted online for public information via Board Docs.

• Goals will be monitored and the status of implementation will be adjusted to represent current status for the annual reporting schedule.

• A continuous monitoring and evaluation process will be documented by each leader using a monthly accountability plan.

Goal 4: Discipline- Each year beginning in August 2021, school discipline will be monitored monthly with the number of discipline referrals decreasing by 5% points (139) and the number of out of school suspensions decreasing by 5% points (102.4 -OSS, 44.2-ISS = 146.6) as measured by the previous school years discipline reports/data.

Analysis of Effectiveness:

• At the beginning of the 2019/2020 school year, Principals created school wide discipline plans that placed emphasis on emotional mediation and keeping students in school. These plan contributed to the decrease in incidences, in-school and out-of school suspensions numbers. Based onthe trajectory, this goal would have been met for the 2019/2020 school year.

Recommended Changes

• No changes are needed at this time due to the district participating in 100% virtual instruction.

Next Steps and Action Steps

• Principals will retweek their discipline plans as needed when students return to in-person instruction.

• Principals will provide alternatives for out of school suspension.• Principals will dive deeper into the data and create responses based on

what the data tells them.• Principals will leverage all support staff to assist with monitoring throughout

the buildings.
