Competent Inspector Certification
Per ANSI Updated training must beconducted every 2 years
ANSI Z359.2 3.3.4.5 Competent person update training shall be conducted at least every two years to stay current with the fall protection and rescue education industry requirements or when new fall protection systems are used or installed or new fall hazards are encountered.
The Competent Inspector course is designed for the professional user or supervisor charged with establishing an inspection program and/or conducting inspection of fall protection equipment. The student will be guided through Capital Safety, OSHA, ANSI and CSA inspection criteria on body harnesses, lanyards, connectors, and anchorage devices. Upon successful completion of this course, the student will receive a certificate acknowledging they have met requirements to manage a fall protection equipment inspection program.
WHAT’S INCLUDED
Fall Protection 101Topics will include:
• How to properly wear and adjust harnesses
• Proper use of lanyards and self-retracting lifelines.
• Anchor Point requirements• Basics of Rescue • Overview of the changes with ANSI/
OSHA standards.
Jay PetryJay has been active in the fall protection industry for the past 17 years. The last 13 years Jay has worked with DBI/Sala/Protecta specializing in helping at the end user level by offering site surveys and training. Four years prior, Jay worked for Rose Manufacturing/MSA Fall Protection.

ERS Jeff Springer
Jeff has been active in the safety industry since 1995 working as a consultant assisting with written OSHA programs and training. Since joining PMG in 2007, he has partnered with end users to improve their overall fall protection programs thru training, inspection, and consulting. Jeff has attained certification as Competent Person and a Competent Inspector Trainer.
Jeff KleberJeff has over fourteen years of experience in the safety industry. He spent seven years in safety for J B Hunt Transport and seven years in industrial sales specializing in Safety. Jeff brings a great perspective to his teachings in the field and in the classroom. He is a Competent Inspector Trainer and is also a Certified Competent Person.
Joe BrandelJoe has been a Manufacturer's Representative for over 13 years and in the construction and safety industries for over 19 years. He is a Competent Inspector Trainer and is also a Certified Competent Person.
Chris DickeyChris is new to our team, but is a quick learner. He comes to us with 9 years of experience working with manufacturers, 5 of which were in safety. Chris has consulting experience in the areas of lean manufacturing and Six Sigma methodology. He most recently acquired his Competent Person Certification and is a Competent Inspector Trainer.
