Robert FrankRobert Frank (born November 9, 1924) is an important figure in American photography and film. His most notable work, the 1958 book titled The Americans, was influential, and earned Frank comparisons to a modern-day de Tocqueville for his fresh and nuanced outsider's view of American society. Frank later expanded into film and video and experimented with manipulating photographs and photomontage.
Robert`s ImpactHis pictures make you feel, they are
generally soft and have good contrast. The subjects are always in the middle of an action, and each picture makes fun of one thing that we do, and they all make sense.
HomageI picked to do my presentation on
Robert Frank because he was all about America, and what it should stand for. He sort of satirized how people were living and that they were doing it wrong. And I like the idea of being an American.
