A few last notes:
-Look up Frank Serrano, an artist whose paintings showabstract shapes.
-Homework is to sketch Value Masses thumbnails of photosJohannes posted for the exercise.
-One way to tell in a gallery if you're looking at a paintingdone en plein air or from a photo is to look at the values ofthe trees. If they're value 8 or 9 in a broad daylight scene,
chances are the artist worked from a photo.
