What is the technology and why have I chosen it?• The technology I have chosen is robotics, I have chosen robotics

because it’s a instructing subject and I wish to find out more about it.

History of robotics?

• the first known robot was created around 400-350 BC by the mathematician archytas and was an artificial bird. It flew about 200 meters before running out of steam. • Over time robots have become more realistic and more able to do

things, they have developed and can now work as a human and be used for different things.

What changes have taken place?

• The changes that have taken place is what they can do and how they look. There ability has changed the are now more high tech. Also the way they hide the electronics and now make them to look human like. Now robots are used in Japanese hospitals.

What would happen if the technology didn’t exist. • Tasks will take longer to do and wont be completed to a high standard

and will consist of more workers male and female to complete the task. • There would be more jobs available and scientist who specialise in

this will loose there jobs.

5 examples of robots uses

• 1. Titan is a big robot that attracts lots of tourists and family's. Titan walks around Butlins and goes up to families.

• 2. Assembly line robots that are programmed to build cars by placing parts in exactly the same place every time are no longer tech cool. You know what is tech cool? Assembly line robots with laser eyes that can see where parts need to go, adjust themselves to even the slightest variations in positioning, and custom fit each placement.

• 3. Industrials - Industrial robots are robots used in an industrial manufacturing environment. Usually these are articulated arms specifically developed for such applications as welding, material handling, painting and others. If we judge purely by application this type could also include some automated guided vehicles and other robots.

• 4. Nobody (almost nobody) likes getting stabbed with needles, and kids seem to especially hate it. Getting vaccinated is an unpleasant process for everyone concerned, including the kids, their anxious parents, and nurses and physicians who are just trying to do their job. There are ways to coach all parties involved to be better at dealing with scary and painful procedures, and that’s where robots might help. Robots, with the proper programming, have proven (like, peer-reviewed proven) that they can be very effective pain coaches.

• 5. Industry robots make cars and other consumer and business products. A Cartesian robot has parts oriented left and right, forward and backward, and up and down. A cylindrical robot is a robot whose movement traces a cylinder outline. A polar robot's movement traces a sphere in the air. One type of robot operates remotely but is controlled from another location. The Mars rovers, armed drones and underwater explorer vehicles are examples. Another type of robot goes into danger zones, such as a crater of an active volcano, or a cave used by hostile forces.

Ethical issues

• People believe robots are going to take over the world and are taking over peoples jobs currently.

• For children In hospital they use robots to do injections etc. this is because children can get scared.

• People believe that robots are becoming too human like. This could become a problem because we wont be able to identify robots and humans. Then robots could potentially take over.

Legal issues

• A doctor examines a stroke patient located in a rural community in South America from a hospital located thousands of miles away. A stock trade is executed instantly based on real-time information. A new pair of shoes is purchased for a rock-bottom price during an Internet flash sale. A car is guided down the highway at a safe distance from others, automatically adjusting the engine speed, steering controls, and brakes based on real-time traffic information.• In each of these cases, there is no question that robotic technology is

making life easier, safer, or more convenient for human beings. Despite these benefits, concerns remain about what happens when robotic technology fails, either unintentionally or by design, resulting in economic loss, property damage, injury, or loss of life.

Conclusion

• In conclusion robots change the way we work and live and will have massive impact on the future of our lives and other generations.
