The design of large excavated slopes and foundations in rock poses particular challenges. Our experienced engineering geologists and geotechnical engineers have the technical expertise to provide rockslope and foundation designs that combine value with safety, performance, and aesthetics. TRAINED AND TALENTED Kleinfelder teams with civil engineering firms to provide rockslope engineering stability analysis, design for rock cuts and failing slopes, and foundation designs attendant to rock. Our staff provides design for a diverse range of projects, from small rock benches to rock slopes measuring hundreds of feet high and several miles long, as well as socketed piers, and foundation abutments for bridges. Our engineers and geologists are trained in mountaineering techniques to safely conduct high-angle traverses on rock faces and are experienced at horizontal line, vertical line, and window mapping. As a result, we have the training, knowledge, project experience, and resources to perform a wide array of services—providing rockslope and foundation designs that combine value with safety, performance, and aesthetics.
