Now, after decades behind the scenes, six of the musicians who were instrumental in the success of these songs have formed The Hit Men. The band includes original members of Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons, Tommy James’ Shondells and The Critters. They have also performed with Jim Croce, Cat Stevens, Carly Simon and other mega-star acts. Their set includes Four Seasons songs like Oh What a Night and Big Girls Don’t Cry along with many other solid gold hits that they helped make famous – including Mony, Mony, Peace Train, Bad, Bad Leroy Brown, and You’re So Vain. The Hit Men also share great back stories and anecdotes from their days in recording studios and on the concert circuit. The program features everything from It’s Beginning to Look A Lot Like Christmas to traditional carols like Deck the Halls to a jazz version of The Nutcracker Suite to White Christmas and many more all-time favorites. Thursday, Jan. 31 Join Mouse on a journey through the deep,

dark wood in this magical musical adapta-

tion of the Blue Peter award-winning pic-

ture book by Julia Donaldson and Axel

Scheffler. Mouse can scare hungry animals

away with tales of the terrifying Gruffalo,

but what happens when he comes face to

face with the very creature he imagined?

Songs, laughs and fun come together in a

“monster” of a show the whole family will

Pirate School! with David Engel Friday, March 1 Aaargh! Learn what it takes to be a true

pirate and sail the high seas! This mad-

cap, swashbuckling one-man family

vaudeville show is the creation of

veteran New York physical comedian

and actor David Engel. It has en-

thralled, emboldened and delighted thousands of families with its mischievous blend of

slapstick antics, magic, puppetry, zany music, special effects and plenty of boisterous

audience participation. Recommended for ages 6 and up.

The Walter Gloor Mainstage Series Chicago

Oct. 19, 20 & 25 at 7:30 p.m.; Oct. 21 at 2 p.m. Step into the world of showgirls, vaudeville and celebrity

crime in this razzle-dazzle musical from John Kander, Fred

Ebb and Bob Fosse. Set in prohibition-era Chicago, the story

follows two would-be starlets accused of murder who become cell-block rivals as they

try to turn their “celebrity status” into a ticket to stardom. The numbers in this Tony

Award-winning work include All That Jazz, Mr. Cellophane and Me and My Baby.

The Piano Lesson

Nov. 30, Dec. 1 & 6 at 7:30 p.m.; Dec. 2 at 2 p.m. A family struggles with the past and the future as they debate

whether to sell a valuable antique piano. Boy Willie, a share-

cropper, wants to sell it in order to purchase the land upon

which his ancestors toiled as slaves. His sister believes the

family should hold on to the heirloom. This searing drama by

August Wilson won a Tony Award and a Pulitzer Prize.

Stop the World – I Want to Get Off

March 8, 9 & 14 at 7:30 p.m.; March 10 at 2 p.m. Set in the world of the circus, this award-winning Off-Broadway musical

chronicles a man’s struggle to improve his lot in life – only to discover

in the end that what he really needed was always right in front of him.

The Diary of Anne Frank

April 12, 13 & 18 at 7:30 p.m.; April 14 at 2 p.m. This timeless work of a young Jewish girl’s coming-of-age experi-

ences as her family hides from the Nazis in Amsterdam during

World War II earned both a Tony Award and a Pulitzer Prize. The

story is told through Anne’s diary entries starting just after her 13th

birthday – mere days before her family is forced into hiding in an

attempt to escape the tyranny of invading Nazi forces.

The Fredonia Dance Ensemble in Concert

May 3 & 4 at 7:30 p.m.; May 5 at 2 p.m. Experience a range of dance styles in an evening of grace and

beauty with this annual showcase. The best student dancers at

SUNY Fredonia perform pieces choreographed by faculty

members and guest artists. The works will highlight the range

in dance styles that audiences have come to expect from the Fredonia Dance Ensemble.

Burma: Reflections on a Hidden Land

with Sean Cassidy Saturday, April 6 The land once known as Burma (also

called Myanmar) is hidden behind a gold

and silk curtain. Sean Cassidy explores

Myanmar in a quiet and gentle way,

seeking to find out what lies behind the

facade commonly presented to visiting

tourists. Burma is an amazingly beautiful

land, rich in history and culture. Despite

incredible hardships, the Burmese people

are among the friendliest on Earth and welcome visitors with smiles and openness.
